A station with facilities
Dec 2019
The station is on National Rail services and, also, on both the Overground and Underground District Line: so Richmond is a transport hub. Signs were clear. There are toilets, which were clean and in full working order. The coffee shop takes coffee seriously. There is a useful little shop in the ticket hall, which is the entrance and exit.

Proper slughtly old dashioned station

I like passing through here as it has a nice feel to it despite the modern convenience store/supermarket/cafe additions.

An attractive art deco station
Apr 2019 • Solo
This is the end of the District Line and of the Overground from Stratford. There are also many trains an hour from Waterloo, Twickenham, Kingston, Windsor and Reading.

There are also many bus routes and this is the gateway to Richmond Riverside and it is about 15 minutes walk to the marvellous Richmond Park.

The station itself is attractive and has a good food M&S, a small WH Smith and several coffee shops. It is also a good way to get to Richmond Theatre and the Orange Tree Theatre, both of which are five minutes' walk.

At the weekend there is a fine information centre staffed by well informed volunteers.

Interchange
Mar 2019 • Solo
Services by London Overground, South Western Railway and the District Line all serve Richmond station. In addition a large number of buses serving the local area stop outside the station so it is a busy hub.

There is a WH Smith and a coffee shop in the foyer and a number of different eateries nearby.

The staff I met were all friendly and professional.

Always busy but efficient

Enjoy going to restaurants and the theatre in Richmond and mainly travel by train. Kept clean and convenient for District Line, SWR and Overground to connect you to many places.

Gateway to Richmond Park
Dec 2018 • Couples
Im a cyclist so dont get to uße the station that often but i do meet some of my riding companions, who travel from north London there. The station has good facilities with cafes, kiosks and, im pretty certain, a small M & S outlet.

Staff are invariably cheerful and courteous and despite it being busy at times the station never seems frantic despite being a terminus for London Overground and District Line tube services. There ard alsk many rail services to/ftom Waterloo that stop here so it is pretty well connected.

The only time if does get too busy is when there are events at , nearby, Twickenham Stadium which is HQ for England Rugby and hosts many pop concerts in summertime.

Busy intersection
Jan 2019 • Friends
Architecturally uninteresting , vaguely Art Deco. A large ticket hall where there are usually multiple staffed windows. Services on SW Rail to London Waterloo, Hounslow, Kingston, Reading, Windsor, and intermediate stations. TfL Overground service, and tube - the latter useful but slow if you want central London. The station staff go into hiding if there are problems.

A terminus and through trains use it.

A busy station when trains arrive and passengers surge to the exit stairs and on to the ticket barriers.

A useful station
Jun 2018 • Friends
Richmond is a useful station within the London travel network as it offers direct rail line to Waterloo, or District Line metro link to anywhere within London.

Outside the station you can pick up buses to Teddington, Twickenham, Hampton, Kingston, Hounslow, Isleworth, Chiswick and Mortlake for starters, so it it is quite a transport hub for the area. The station has cafes, newsagent, a proper ticket office and an information centre - but it is often dirty and untidy.
