A very pretty well maintained park even though it was in winter. It was a shame the fountains weren't running running but maybe its because of the time if year or possibly a health and safety thing, which would be such a shame. When you walk through to the bottom past a coffee shop which decks out to look at the Thames, there's a wrought iron set of steps that take you underneath the road safely to the Thames so you don't have to cross the road. Fabulous!!

The views of the Thames River from Terrace Gardens are world famous and have been captured in photos and paintings for years. It's a short walk along the pathways in the garden and does connect to other walking paths for a longer outing. Plenty of benches along the way to stop and smell the roses...the roses are astounding when in season. Take time for tea at the Hollyhock Café and enjoy the unobstructed views of the river from their elevated outdoor seating. The sculpture known as Bulbous Betty sits in a fountain near the top of the gardens - make sure you read the accompanying plaque for a chuckle :)

At the top of the the Terrace gardens you get amazing views of the River Thames . this is artists favourite spot. You can walk throug the garden down to the river itself. All round we think this is " A Must See" view if visiting Richmond.

Gorgeous gardens, excellent views of the river.

On the side of Richmond Hill overlooking the Thames (home of the famous view) are these lovely gardens. They are far less famous than Richmond Park but have a great charm and are brilliantly maintained by the local council.

They are within ten minutes of Richmond Station, have an excellent cafe and some truly magnificent trees. Nearby are excellent restaurants including Petersham Nursery, Nightingales at the Petersham Hotel and 144 the Hill at the Richmond Hill Hotel. All in all they are worth a visit possibly en route to Richmond Park from the town.

Numerous buses pass nearby

These gardens are perfect for a picnic. The flowerbeds are looking amazing with tulips and bedding plants.

Richmond is a lovely part of Surrey but really is part of Greater London. Walking up the hill with all those lovely quaint shops you come across the Terrace garden which is such a lovely place to walk and provides glorious views of the River Thames and London. One of my favourite London spots.

Among one of the nicest views in London, the view of the Thames from the Gardens at the top of Richmond Hill, I just love it. The Gardens are beautifully laid out and are genreally well kept although the rubbish collection is rather lax at times. Threre is a very nice friendly cafe in the centre with very good coffee..

We were on a day trip to London, the boys were off at the rugby in Twickenham so we decided to visit these gardens.
After reading the reviews I found this to be below my expectations. The only positive side was that there was an amazing view of the Thames.
There is a little cafe but the toilet facilities were not well looked after or very clean.
