Last minute plan, the staff were lovely as I booked the tickets couldn't do enough to help. When we returned again helpful staff welcoming telling us were to find things and even in the bar the same attention making you feel special.
A small theater a little cool temperature wise but fine, an amateur production of Shrek which was perfectly put, and yes a standing ovation
A perfect night out

Had the pleasure of watching panto at the Blakehay last weekend. An amazing theatre with bags of charm and character. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Great show and fantastic venue. Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Love this little theatre, big enough for comfort and no poor viewing areas but offering a lovely intimate feel . The bar area is a little small but gives the option to pre order drinks for half time. Lots of good shows coming there in 2016!

I don’t think the panto we saw is the same as the one that has been reviewed by others. I went with 5 like-minded friends. We are all broad-minded & like a good laugh like anyone else. However, we all found the production cringingly awful. Bad script, bad directing, bad acting, unimaginative costumes and scenery, unpleasant portrayal of gays, and offensive portrayal of women. Just bad all round. So much so that we left in the interval, following several others who left before the interval! We paid the same price for our tickets as others paid for a good, well reviewed pantomime in London.
I am surprised that the theatre showed this performance if they want to encourage people to visit the Blakehay. By the look of the numbers, it wasn’t well attended. All in all, an expensive mistake which we won’t be repeating. It will take a lot to get us back to the Blakehay Theatre.

We were in Weston to see a Songs and Words performance at the Blakehay. We weren't disappointed. The theatre is small and there isn't a bad seat when it comes to views. The sound quality was excellent. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, as well as efficient in getting people seated and also serving at the bar. Ordering interval drinks before the performance was a great idea as they were ready and waiting for us. The bar was very cheap!

The theatre is easy to find and well located. We liked it very much,

Visited the Blakehay the other week to see "Bonnie and Clyde" presented by a local amateur group and I must say it was very good! I am always a bit apprehensive about going to events at the Blakehay as it is not the most comfortable of venues and the acoustics are a problem but in this instance, they had overcome the sound problem with a very good sound system so you could actually hear what the actors were saying, although it perhaps could have done with some reinforcement towards the back of the auditorium, to help counteract the slight echo.
The venue is celebrating 10 years' ownership by Weston Town Council but although there have been some improvements, there is still a lot to be done; for example, unless you know where it is, you are quite likely to walk past it at night as it doesn't advertise its existence! The building has a handsome street facade (formerly a Baptist Church) and some careful illumination could enhance its appearance. One successful improvement has been the cafe/bar which has been transformed from an austere room to a comfortable and pleasant place to sip your interval drinks.
The foyer is rather cramped and on a busy night (as it was for Bonnie and Clyde) with a queue for the box office, it is difficult to move around and you have difficulty hearing what the box office staff are saying to you because of the noise and the fact that they are behind a glass screen! There is a large flight of uncarpeted stairs (which then divides into two flights) which takes you up to each side of the steeply raked auditorium seating; the floors are again uncarpeted so there is quite a noise when people move about. The seating is not that comfortable although legroom is not too bad and sight-lines are good. I've already mentioned the acoustics and the other thing is ventilation - there isn't any and when it is full, it gets very hot and stuffy; it could done with the doors into the foyer being held open during the interval to allow some air into the place!
For disabled patrons, there is a corridor that takes you down to the front of the auditorium where there is a designated seating area for wheelchairs.
The staff are friendly and helpful and lets hope that in the next 10 years, the venue can be improved and more shows of the calibre of "Bonnie and Clyde" can be put on.

This is a very well run theatre. The seats are comfortable and a great view of the stage from all the seats. A good selection of shows are available and I would recommend this theatre for people to visit when in Weston.

Didn't go into the venue. But it's great architecture from the outside. Good to take a photo off. Easy to find follow signposts

I saw a music-hall type show here earlier in the year and, whilst not that well supported I can report that the venue, although not prominently located in this old-style seaside town is quite central and easy to reach and access. There is a wide range of shows on throughout the year and a ticket office just inside the entrance. It is a small theatre so quite cosy and the view from each seat is good.

Went to see a college production last night with around 20+ family & friends (Made in Dagenham). The show was amazing the two lead roles just blew all of us away especially the chap his solo was very emotional!
The one thing I really feel the theatre needs to look into is some air conditioning! Almost every person I talked to during the break stated that the heat was unbearable for them and ruined part of the nights entertainment! They even sale fans behind the bar... These should be given out free!
