This is a pleasant place to sit and people watch if you want to rest your legs for a few minutes. But it’s definitely not a destination of its own right so I wouldn’t recommend making a special detour.

This is was a missed opportunity....it could have been converted into a haven of peace, instead we have a bit of grass, buses driving close by, lots of gulls and other sea birds ready to feast on your chips ......and a lot of litter blowing...More

The Pier Square is much improved from the days when it was simply a water fountain surrounded by busy traffic, though you still have to look out for buses which cross the square from time to time. Now there are plenty of seating areas to...More

There's not a lot to say here really - Princess Royal Square is located just off the seafront (across the road from The Grand Pier) It's mostly pedestrianised now and has a few eateries and a tacky-looking indoor market along it. Me, my husband and...More

A pleasant paved area opposite the grand pier and is the beginning of regent street. Nice fountain which is always running and a very traditional carousel. Surrounded by fish and chip outlets and other bars and cafes. Unfortunately it is paved as if a pedestrian...More

Located close to the pier, arcades and Sovereign shopping centre. This paved area is surrounded by fish and chip take always and restaurants, with a central fountain. Of an evening an ideal place to watch periodic firework displays. Close to bus and coach stops.

Pier Square has been used for a number of events in recent months. Today I caught part of the Bank Holiday 'Busk in the Sun' event with a line-up of 16 buskers over two afternoons playing from a small stage in the square. It was...More

The square is located right across the street from the Grand Pier and there are not too many nice things to see here, except for a small fountain and a lot of seagulls. Still, this place is a good place to relax a bit.

Something and nothing really, when it's sunny it's full of holiday makers eating fish and chips which attract the very numerous seagulls!!!! Flipping hazard!! Tends to get a bit messy with rubbish at busy times

This square right opposite the Grand Pier is far too busy with traffic going to and fro, people queueing for fish 'n' chips, people sitting on the low walls eating, too much greasy litter, the litter bins are woefully inadequate for all the people who...More
