Showing someone around the area, and they couldnt help but be impressed - the weather was kind to us, and to see the Falls was an excellent end to a busy day

We visited on 17th August. The falls were very attractive, and at first we thought we were unlikely to see any salmon leaping. However, patience paid off, and over the course of about half an hour we saw perhaps 20 salmon leaping up the waterfalls (all of them unsuccessfully). It was a nice spot to while away a little time.... More

This is a delightful location, not far from the busy Royal Deeside town of Banchory, which has lots of wining, dining and shopping opportunities. Although the River Feugh is a tributary to the much better-known River Dee (world-famous among salmon anglers), which it joins not far downstream from this bridge, it is set in equally beautiful surroundings and the falls... Beautiful waterfall close to the main road and a good river for spotting salmon returning to reproduce. Unfortunately we didn't have the chance to see any leaping salmon although we stayed there 15 minutes, I guess it was too late during the season. It is not worth a detour, but if you have time and are close to it, it... More

Really cool little waterfall which was fairly high with rain the day we were there. It was Salmon spawning time and we saw a few unfortunate salmon trying to jump the falls with not much success! Interesting to see them though.

Falls famous for seeing salmon leaping as they progess up stream to spawn. I visited when this was not happening but the Falls are still worth a visit. Good car park just a few yards from the footbridge over the river: and the restaurant which boasts good veiws of the Falls as well
