Lovely place for a stop off

Some pretty and quiet walks, with lovely food at the café. Perfect place for a stop off relief of A30 traffic if you are heading to deepest Cornwall.

We came here for the mountain biking as a family of four with sons aged 11 & 16. The course here is 'moderate' with some harder loops off the main route. We have standard hybrid bikes and have done other 'family' courses so we are not proficient but we loved this course. It was at the limit for us &... More

Myself and my two young children aged 6 and 2 visited today for the gruffalo hunt. It was a lovely hot day and was very very busy. I managed to find a space from someone leaving which was ideal but there were cars being dumped everywhere so was hard to turn your car around! The BBQ area was packed so... More

We decided to head to Cardinham to complete the newly created Gruffalo trail. The trail was great and our boys loved it but I question the need for the £3 pack when all you really need is the free app. Therefore was left feeling a bit stung in the pocket. In regards to the woods in general. The paths are... More

This is a beautiful area, there are several walks you can take, from the easy flat walks to the long and hard walks. The scenery is breathtaking on the high walks. The woods are well maintained and suitable for all ages. You do not have to take a walk if you do not wish to. There is a lovely picnic... More

Not been here for many years so thought I'd give it another go . On arrival it looks so much better, big car parks & a new toilet block. Spent over 3 hours riding round all the tracks through the woods . Some harder than others , but all great fun . Afterwards there's a cafe for tea & cake... More

We've been coming here for years now, it really is a family favorite. Had children's birthday parties in the BBQ area, walked the many and varied foot trails and of course taken full advantage of the bike trails. On the subject of the trails.., they're great and well maintained - probably too much for those with little or no riding... More

However. People with young families should be aware that the play area is open to ALL ages. It is a small play area. It is not suitable for older children. Parents or carers of older children were not concerned or unaware that 'their' children had outgrown the play area, and were spoiling it for younger ones. We were there two... More

We had heard good things and various people had recommended a visit to the woods, so on our holiday to Cornwall last week went for a visit as a family with our 3 year old. Unfortunately we didn't feel the same way! I had looked at the website before we went and decided the main first walk loop was a... More

Very easy to find, good parking and not too expensive. Couldn't find a map of walks so just started a walk, beautiful scenery and mostly easy paths but as the dog is old we didn't want to over do it. We thought the paths needed distance markers and a bit better signage for walkers going around without a map so... More
