We started on a damp and perfectly atmospheric day, Before entering the Jail we enjoyed a rather well priced and very tasty breakfast of note is the cooked breakfast and the Hogs Pudding(i think that was what it was called). We then ventured into the Jail proper where this Family owned attraction really shone. the attention to detail was spot... More

me and my husband recently visited the jail we found the lower levels of the jail extremely oppresive and seemed colder than the rest of the jail at one point we could both see our breaths which we found extremely odd as it was a scorching hot july day!! i myself had a feeling of shortness of breath and slight... It's okay..... Some of the stories are interesting and if you're looking for something indoors on a dry day then it's a reasonable option. The guy on the ticket desk said " if you read everything it's a couple of hours". Well, I read everything and it was less than an hour but I guess it's down to the individual.... More

For the entrance fee I was expecting so much more. The entrance is on the third level of the building and shows mock ups of over 20plus (no kidding) inmates and their sentences, bit tedious after a while, but wait, there's at least another 2 floors of the same! The lighting levels make it difficult to read some of the... More

It was amazing to learn about how people were dealt with by justice system and it wasn't that long ago. Whole experience was excellent.

Visited Bodmin Jail again for the third time in around 7 years. The reason we returned was due to the amazing experiences we had on the previous two times but sadly was disappointed on this occasion. The tour itself is very interesting and learning about life in the jail was eye-opening but there were parts that had been closed off... More

Staff friendly. Nicely refurbished with stunning wooden detailed bar Good food and the chef made us cheesy garlic bread even though it wasn't on menu - delicious!

Interesting history and facts ... read heartfelt stories about some of the inmates and life in the Jail.. & particularly a fascinating read is about 'One for the road' . Do not pass up the opportunity to visit this Jail in Cornwall.

Have visited the jail a few times over last couple of years and never been disappointed. The history and atmosphere here is amazing. Our main reason for visit was the alleged ghostly activity that takes place and we were very soon proven that it is very active much to our delight. The cafe/ restaraunt is fab and very reasonable. Definately... More
