Fantastic place for a break
Sep 2021 • Couples
Lovely place to visit and highly recommend to anyone looking at having a nice break away. We stayed in the cottage (4 of us and 2 small dogs), ample room, clean and hosts and staff were brilliant.
Fishing pool is nice with clear water and lots of quality fish (but not easy to catch!). Lots of local places to visit to walk dogs...talkin tarn and Gelt woods worth a visit.
Helpful leaflet and info in accommodation for local pubs and taxi services. Cumberland arms and Sally have very nice food but not many taxis in area so make sure you book in advance (esp return).
All in all a great trip and would definitely return if returning to the area.

Wigwam holiday
Aug 2021 • Family
We stayed here for 2 nights in August and we had an amazing time. The staff were friendly and so helpful. Our wigwam had everything we needed. We had a hot tub, which was amazing. On a night we enjoyed sitting around the firepit. We watched the bats flying and was told that deer come down to the stream to drink.
We met all the animals, the staffs dogs and cat, sheep, chickens and the alpacas, which we fed and stroked. We were given a leaflet, telling us about walks and restaurants, takeaways in the surrounding area. We spent one day in the little town for food and took a trip to talking tarn, which I would defo recommend.
We had an amazing time and would recommend this place. We would defo go back.

Perfect mini break
Sep 2021 • Family
We had such a good time here and would definitely recommend to others. The site was beautiful and felt really safe. Everyone on site was helpful and friendly. My children were desperate to try fishing but I had never done it before so I was a bit worried about it but the staff talked us through what to do and gave plenty of help, other people around the lake helped out too and my children were thrilled when they caught some fish (which we later barbecued on the wigwam’s firepit).

The wigwam was amazing with beautiful views. We had a hot tub too which was really special. Everything had been thought of inside the wigwam, it was really well equipped and had hooks and storage in all the right places.

We did the evening Alpaca/ hens/ sheep feeding and this was so much fun for the kids (and me!). The alpacas are just so funny and I got to cuddle one 😄 The kids enjoyed the playground, paddling in the stream and the giant games too.

We didn’t want to leave and would love to go back one day.

What a beautiful find 😀
Jul 2021 • Family
We spent three nights here last week, what a beautiful place. Perfect for families - pond dipping, animals, playground and fairy hunt. Also, well equipped, very clean, modern wigwams. The owners are fabulous and really welcoming, they made our little girl feel so special (Phoebe says hi). A little piece of heaven we will be back! Thank you 😊

Lovely cottage super clean
Jul 2021 • Couples
A week at Lakeside cottage, James and Catherine were very welcoming and all the staff happy to help, The cottage its self is upside down, so both bedrooms are a good sizes are down stairs ( very steep) both have super kingsize beds very comfortable and lovely white bedding. Dressing gowns are a lovely touch. Note the only bathroom is upstairs, so maybe think about children or elderly people. The cottage is very well equipped ( everything you will need to cook ) The upstairs is very warm but the good news it's its much cooler downstairs in the bedrooms . Hot tub was a welcome addition after a day out walking .Had a go at fishing on the fun Lake on our last day and happy to say come home with some rainbow trout for our friends. So a great week was had by all. There is a few take aways about 10 mins away in town and a small co-op . About 20 mins away is a large tesco.

Great hosts, very welcoming and helpful, couldn't do more to make us feel welcome. The pod was brilliant, small and cosy with great facilities. Had a very enjoyable evening fishing the lake. Loads of good quality trout and great fishing platforms.
Great site for travelling with attractions in every direction.
All in all, a most enjoyable couple of days and look forward to coming back in the future.

Relaxing stay with great customer service
Jul 2021 • Couples
We loved our stay at New Mils. The staff were all so welcoming and helpful. You can really tell that they love what they do.

We stayed in a dog friendly hot tub cabin. We have travelled with our dog many times before and always feel like we get the room that looks a little run down because we have him with us. Not at New Mills!!!! The dog cabins are clean, modern, well kept, equipped and a breath of fresh air for dog owners. You will not be able to tell a dog has even been there before.

We stayed at a time when the weather was hot. The cabin was cool inside and the temperature was easy to sleep in. If you are not hiring the bedding then bring pillows and a quilt.

The fencing was very secure, even a beagle could not escape! We felt we could sit back and relax without having to constantly keep an eye on him. This made our weekend.

The hot tub was fantastic. Clean, relaxing and easy to use. The views were amazing from the hot tub. It felt very romantic. The coals were provided and the hot tub was ready to use as soon as we got there.

Brampton centre is around a 20 minute brisk walk and had a good path. So it was safe to walk with a dog. The town itself
has 3 pubs. All very dog friendly.

We all loved our stay here and are already talking about going back. Book it, you will love it.

Perfect Stay
Jul 2021 • Family
Jusy back from an amazing glamping short break. Cannot recommend this high enough, Catherine, James and their staff are friendly and professional. Our daughter loved the Alpacas, chickens and sheep. Wigwam was immaculate with a lovely outdoor deck to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Will definitely be back.

Amazing time away
May 2021 • Friends
My friend and I stayed for 2 nights on the 23rd June in a log fuelled hot tub wigwam, I cannot express how clean, friendly and calming this experience and stay was, The owner and his wife were very attentive and nothing was too much of an effort for them, the staff exceeded what you would expect and were extremely friendly, I seriously cannot wait to come back and visit again, thank you for such a lovely time away.
