The Lovell Telescope is awesomely HUGE! It's incredible to see it moving around as it changes position. We had a fantastic family day out at the Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre. We were a group of 2 adults and 2 teenagers - 17 and 15. There were lots of little children there who were loving it too. The Lovell Telescope and science talk (included in the price) was very interesting, complete with fun experiments. The young lady who did the talk on the day we were there (31 October 2021) was an excellent communicator. We enjoyed the space photography exhibition immensely (Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition) - the photos were stunning and beautiful, we bought a book of the photos from last year's competition in the gift shop. The indoor exhibits were very good. We enjoyed the one where you learn about the personnel working there and what their jobs involved, from the astrophysicists to the engineers and computer scientists. The new First Light Pavillion seems to be built but not open yet, we would love to return when this opens. It's an impressive piece of architecture. On a sunny day you could also explore the grounds and have a picnic, but on the day we went it was extremely windy and wet. There is plenty to do there on a wet day too. The orrery was cool! Nice gift shop. Very good restaurant with healthy and tasty food options. Very friendly staff. Made a nice change to be in a place where the visitors were intelligent and had the manners and the sense to wear masks indoors.

Loved it here. What an amazing place. The telescope is amazing. It started to tilt as I stood under it. Wonderful. There was also a display outdoors of amazing photographs. Well worth seeing, and the Discovery centre is great. A fab day out.

Excellent place. Disabled friendly. VERY friendly and accommodating staff. Lexi was very good at the show teaching us about the telescopes and history. Clean. Today. Wheelchair accessible. Not great on a rainy day

We as a family had not been here before but I had been many years ago so we decided to pop along. We booked the tickets on line as they are only open certain times of the week. Very easy to find we used our sat nav but as you get closer it is sign posted we parked up and made our way to the ticket office and was greeted by a very friendly member of staff who booked us in. As a family we did enjoy the day out but just thought that there would have been abit more to do there I suppose the weather didn't help. Overall we did enjoy it but next time will probably visit in the summer

Great experience for kids who are space obsessed and also we enjoyed it too! Great to see the impressive Lovell dish. Did not see it move on this occasion but still great to see. I found the informative talk of Sir Bernard Lovell really inspiring. Cafe was reasonably priced and pleasant clean seating area outside. Gift shop had quite a few budget priced items for the kids. A lot of investment has been made with construction work going on in areas. Definitely will be returning and definitely recommend for those little Space crazy future inventors!
