About
Pickie Fun Park was extensively redeveloped in 2012. Children can play in the adventure playground, enjoy the watery fun of the splash pads, enjoy a ride on the electric car track or climb aboard the Pickie Puffer for a narrow-gauge railway journey around the colourful landscape. All the family can pedal a giant Swan around the shallow waters of the lovely Lagoon, compete with each other in our mini golf course or take a break in the cafe. The fun park is at the gateway to the Marine Gardens, a delightful stretch of coast for leisurely walks. There are panoramic views of Bangor Bay and the hills of Antrim beyond. Just take a seat, relax and marvel at the wonders all around, or eat your picnic before making your way round to Wilson's Point. This is a great place to relax and enjoy the views over Belfast Lough.

We visited on Tuesday 30 August. The ticket kiosk was closed, the train wasn’t running and the water play area was out of order. There was no staff around, just a notice to say tokens should be purchased on line. Fortunately another customer advised that tokens were available at the ice cream hut. This had only one member of staff trying to sell ice creams and tokens - very slow. The tokens are £1 each with most rides needing 4 tokens. Quite expensive if you are taking a number of children.
Northern Ireland businesses and local councils need to try harder to attract visitors, especially if they want return visits.

Our kids loved their visit to Pickie Park! We bought the tickets online the night before so everything for them was included in the price. The young people working here are all so friendly and great withe kids. It is aimed at much younger kids.
Only issue was the man running the swan boats was rude to us when we were trying to get the kids on safety and only 2 of the disco ducks were working so the que for them is long.

Plenty of variety; well organised, a fun place to be. 4-year-old loved it. Spent £20 on tokens for the rides that required them, Good value because of the variety with plenty of 'free' play items to fill out a couple of hours with ease - plus stopping for ice cream. Friendly helpful young staff. Only major downside was the toilets which, towards the end of the afternoon, had obviously not been cleaned and in some cases were disgusting. Pity because everything else would be recommended for a visit and would have been worth 5 stars

Not good value for money. The staff have no hats on girls with hair hanging all round their faces serving your food. Orderd tea they gave me a cup half full. The food is average nothing special threw out to you in a paper box with plastic Cutlery from staff who havnt a clue. You really would be safer saving your money and finding a nice wee chippy in bangor.
The disco boats well u could count to 30 and your childs time would be over at £4 a go it really is a rip off.
So let down with this place won't be back

Headed to Bangor for a drive with husband and three children (12, 13 and 14)
Had a super time walking along marina and enjoyed the disco ducks, swans and remote control boats in Pickies. Catered well for social distancing, staff were professional and friendly and the whole place was immaculately clean. Will visit again.

Extremely expensive for what it is, £6 for 15 minutes on a pedal boat in a pool full of rubbish. The boats are not clean. The disco ducks are £4 for a few minutes and the small train £4 per adult and £3 a child. Food also over priced. Play park tired needs a refurb. Not worth travelling for

We make an anual trip to the park each year as it is a great place to visit. We were a little disappointed today at the sour faces of some of the younger guys down by the log boat ride. Wouldnt hurt to break a smile. The guy on the train ride as always had a smile on his face and interacted with our son who is non verbal. I thought he was so thoughtful and considerate. A real gentleman. He deserves real credit for that alone.. well done.

Since Pickie came under new management a few years ago it has been getting progressively worse. The staff in the cafe are some of the most unpleasant around, so unhelpful and generally rude. There is the odd one that still seems to muster a smile but I’d say the management has a lot to answer for. I’m a local resident so used to be a regular but not anymore, somethings you have to come back just to remind yourself how bad it is.
Bring back Hazel, Andrew and co, they knew how to run the place!

Really disappointed, First of all there was roughly four or so young teens working the tills and you could clearly see they didn’t want to be there. I waited to be served for up to five minutes, while being ignored - when eventually I just started announcing my order to the first person who made eye contact. (Wasn’t easy) What I ordered was a Chicken, bacon and cheese toastie with skinny fries, what I got was a stale, dry, white bread sandwich with a salad dumped on the side. Ordinally I would have no issue letting staff know I wasn’t happy, but no one came to ask that, so I thought F**k it, and got up and left. I’ll not be back. Also - for the love of God, move the till to the other side of the counter. Someone is going to get scalded

I go to the Cafe fairly regularly for a fry up which is always excellent. I find the mainly young staff to be very polite, courteous and very helpful and everything done with a smile on their face which is all very refreshing. I have gone with different Family Friends over the last few years and all have expressed how good the food is etc. I like my eggs poached on my fry and my water topped up for my tea they are always very accommodating nothing a problem and find the prices very reasonable compared to most cafes in the town . The place itself is very clean and spacious and also plenty of room outside to eat.
As for the rest of the park i can only go by what i see, and that his kids, family's, the young and the old having fun around the stalls and park enjoying their day out being served by the pleasant staff.
I really felt after reading the reviews here i really need to write one as i have had nothing other than pleasant and enjoyable experiences at Pickie.
