- leigh jStockton-on-Tees, United Kingdom20 contributionsFreindly and funWe went today, took our 3 year old Grandson. What a lovely place. We didnt stay long it was a freezing ,wet day. But we will definately return. The car parking is free. The staff are friendly and helpful. We only had a brief look around as we were late getting there but the play area was terrific, I promised we would go back on a nicer day as the Grandson wanted to stay and play in the pirate ship. I paid £30 for a family of 5 as I usually have 3 grandchildren with me, and can go back as often as I Iike in the next year. Great value for moneyVisited November 2022Traveled with familyWritten November 24, 2022
- Elaine W4 contributionsWe LOVED it here!We LOVED our visit. The weather was fab so we just took our time to wander along and take everything in before sitting down to watch boats coming and going through the lock gates from sea. So enjoyable. Very educational watching the mechanics of it all. Definitely worth a visitVisited August 2020Written August 28, 2020
- Ann HYork, United Kingdom2,388 contributionsGlad we wentWe stopped for a very short amount of time at this place and enjoyed wandering along the quay admiring the boats and the views. There are plenty of places to eat as well. Would definitely return on an evening to have a meal or a few drinks. Parking was not too expensive.Visited July 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten July 31, 2023

DO NOT GO! We arrived to use a restaurant and tried to put our reg number into the machines but as soon as the first character was entered the screen went off and the card machine lit up. I tried another machine where the same thing happened again. I held my card up to the reader and it took the payment for the time that I was there. Few days later I get a ticket through for £100. I challenged it but POPLA have sided in their favour. Not sure how if I’ve got a ticket for an amount paid over the time that I stayed and time and dated! Restaurant was terrible as well so overall cost me £200 for some microwaved food. Don’t waste your money and go elsewhere

Used the ‘your parking space’ s app to pay for parking at Hartlepool marina. Unbeknown to me it locked on to premier inn Hartlepool marina - not the one with all the shops and restaurants. Attempted to change the booking location within minutes of realising my mistake but no option to do so except to go and email - the only way I could contact ‘your parking space’.
Got a £100 parking ticket sent to my address a few days later. Attempted to plead via email but they were unrelenting saying the parking ticket was issued legally despite my proof of payment for the wrong location just 30 metres away.
Hartlepool’s quayside business is destined to disappear as no one will visit if this is allowed to continue.

Spent an interesting couple of hours with friends (July 2021). Highlight is the Trincolamee - really enjoyed wandering around the ship, I'm sure children would love it. Staff on the ship were very knowledgeable and helpful. The quay itself has plenty of interest, with mocked up shops with waxworks and room laid out. Whilst we were there there was a firearms demonstration which added to the experience
A good value and interesting way to spend the afternoon

Unfortunately this is a parking fine 'hot spot' in a £100 fine. I went there to take my disabled mother out for the day and parked in the disabled bays next to the shops. These are not clearly and obviously marked as requiring parking payment unless go find a small sign, so it is very easy to miss. Despite providing reasonable evidence parking management company refused to take any notice. Result. I'm afraid that the shops and business will continue to suffer .... I will certainly not be going back!

Terrible service from the senior member of staff, with awful customer service skills. Worst cup of tea Ive had in a long time. Won't be back. Shame as the group has visited every month for years! Today we were celebrating a birthday! Often we were the only people in! Very sad day :(

The trincomalee is a great place to go
great pirate ship for kids to play on. The guides were great and all the staff were helpful. Trincamolee is well worth visiting. You have to pay to get in but it's well worth it.

Looks fabulous with the sail boat and all the shops. A bit smaller than I expected, hard to find without satnav and hard to park. Otherwise nice. Oh and don't take your pet monkey.

Any good for a toddler or is this more edutainment for older kids?

If the toddler likes boats but you would need to keep a very close eye on them or keep them in a pushchair. There is an American ice cream parlour but to be honest you would probably be better at Seaton Carew which is not far from there.

Are there any shops there
dnowland_12

Cannot say we noticed many shops in the area of the quay we visited, but we were not looking for shopping, however at the other side of the busy road there are retail parks with lots of shops and I believe that there is a market in the quay twice a month, I think it is on Saturdays, hope this helps
