Great vantage point to look back towards and photograph Morecambe.
Nice cafe towards the end of the stone jetty.
Numerous sculptures of birds, etc dotted along the jetty.
Certainly not a must do!

We enjoyed the short walk along the stone jetty with our dog, enjoying the art work along the way and admiring the bird sculptures. The views across the Bay towards the Lakes are beautiful. Morecambe is a great place to visit!

The last time I was here, I might as well been solo. There were very few people about.
This time there were families, young children running about. Probably excited as there was a funfair nearby.
At the end of the jerry were fishermen with their fishing lines.
You can look at the bird sculptures and look at the mountains of the Lake District.
This time there were jet skis on the bay as well.

We were staying in the hotel opposite the jetty and it’s a nice walk out across the bay.
The sculptures along the way are bird related and the wording/art on the jetty add to a pleasant stroll.
It’s very popular with families, dog walkers, skateboarders and everyone! Good to see it well used.

What a beautiful jetty, i've never seen one with so much unusual items along it. Just brought a smile to my face from the birds perched on top of the posts to the bird statues on the rocks and the witches poem in the middle. A beautiful sunny day when i went so walking along the jetty to the sea was perfect especially when there wasn't many folks around.

I don't know who thought it was a good idea, to waste vast sums of taxpayers money, adorning the Stone Jetty with those bird monstrosities. It was originally built in 1853 as a railway terminus for Scottish and Irish ferries. Work has been carried out over the years to preserve it's integrity and it is a pleasant, if not blustery, walk to the end; where panoramic views of the town and bay can be had. If hunger or thirst arises, there is a nice little cafe about two thirds of the way along.

This is a very nice well looked after pier thing sticking out to sea. It has jokes and tounge twisters and puns, even a game of hopscotch all written on the floor, in some of the benches round the lampposts it it's very clean and litter free. Lots of bird sculptures mainly cormmerants and a large marble mythical bird type thing.

It's always good to get out along a pier or jetty to take in the views and the sea air. This is a good example - it has several artworks along it and a cafe too which is always good.
Look out for the Time and Tide bell installation, oh - and the gannets!

Having spent 2 nights staying at the Midland Hotel we had looked out at the Stone Jetty throughout our trip but the weather had put us off when we tried to walk along it. As we checked out of the hotel the weather had improved enough so that we found it more pleasant and really enjoyed the walk. Such a lot of history and dramatic views - well worth the effort - we'd like to come back and see it in the sunshine!

We walked from happy mount Park to just past the statue & the walk was the best part.
We took turns between walking on the beach so the dog could have a run and walking on the jetty. We had a nice ice cream and a look in the rock pools.
The jetty was clean and well maintained and if you have younger children they would enjoy the little parks on the jetty too

How far is it to Lancaster and how often do the buses go
Written October 16, 2016
2 Buses and a train, both go to Morecambe every half hour, bus can drop at old station and Jetty straight across road, trains go into new station, head for seafront and you can't miss it. Short walk, that's all. Train takes 10 mins and is about £2.00 return, buses take longer, around 30 mins.
