Cafe Staff saved my event
Oct 2021 • Business
Lido Cafe-I had arranged a children's event for a peer parent support group. Trains changed to bus replacement service, torrential rain, Stay and Play place closed when we had reserved a table. The cafe and staff were wonderful at accommodating us to do a teddy bear hunt, some dancing and game playing! The children had a great time. Great selection of food. Pizza delicious, waffle chips yummy, great coffee and fantastic healthy/veggie selection. Staff and Chef are so freindly and helpful that I am very grateful you saved the day! The pool and Lido is of course gorgeous and it is good to know there is a room to hire above the cafe. Thank you!

September 2021 visit
Sep 2021 • Friends
We had wanted to go up to Pontypridd to visit the Lido since we saw it had been reopened after the damage caused by the storm a few years ago. We booked online before hand, only £2 each. The water was warm, and all the facilities were spotless. Will be back again soon. Diolch!

Waste of time trying to book a slot. Always full
Sep 2021 • Solo
Given up trying to get a slot. It's always booked. I've heard by people doing block bookings which they don't even use all the time. Selfish. Doesn't look all that anyway, will find a better one more accessible!

Good spot to drop of and let the kids go for a paddle, we spent a few hours herr and went into town, lovely for the kids but give the kiosk a miss the staff have an attitude issue.

Fabulous

This place is great. It is spotlessly clean and well staffed. The lifeguards are vigilant and caring. The pools are heated and the activities are great fun. The cafe is a bonus.

Brilliant

Brilliant pre booked online after trying for a while. 2 adults 2 children.
Had never been before simple booking procedure when we arrived we waited outside for our time slot and was given a changing room number which was ours to use whilst there. Changing room. Was spotless and antibac outside door to each room.

Pool was lovely and warm and again spotless. Staff in checking in and poolside lifeguards were great polite , efficient and good with the children, couldnt fault them.

Quite a drive from us but we will definitely be back and would highly recommend.

Awesome

Right from the outset, this is a well run, well maintained, totally stunning Lido. My daughter and I travel around visiting as many lidos as we can. We were mesmerised by how totally beautiful this one is. The town should be so proud.

Wonderful!

Great family fun, lovely warm pool, very Covid safe with timed sessions and allocated cubicles.
You need to be online and ready to go at 7:30am to get your tickets 7 days in advance.
Arrive 15 minutes early for your session to be checked in, given your cubicle number and wristband if you have booked activities.
There are currently no lockers or showers available but you can leave your belongings in your cubicle which is exclusively yours for the session.
Kids an enjoy the sorting, paddle boats and obstacle course for an extra £2.50.
Great value for money, and the cafe is well worth a visit too!

Fantastic pool that’s warmer than indoor pools
Jul 2021
To visit Ponty Lido (or Lido Ponty in Welsh) you need to book a week in advance , and early morning to get your preferred slot. There is no parking on site, but Gas Road car park is a short walk away, cheap (and free after 3pm.) Slots are 90 minutes long, so don’t think of a day lounging by the pool in the Art Deco surroundings. The price for the pool is really good value for money. For £2.50 more per person you get to queue for 1 anchored zorb, some small hand-powered pedelos and an inflatable assuage course. After booking you are then told to turn up 15m early (5 mins is fine.) Changing is in classic 1920s cubicles round the pool. The pool itself is fab - warm and with a deep end that you can’t stand up in. There is also a slifgly cooler (but not cold) toddler pool with a fountain. Once your hour is up everyone is turfed out pretty quickly so the next session can arrive after a quick clean down. TOP TIP - take a £1 coin for lockers (refundable). TOP TIP - if going with children check the adult/child ratios.
