About
Park your car. Walk with your guide to meet horses & ponies of all shapes and sizes including the last few Welsh Pit Ponies now retired here. Stroll in high pastures overlooking the Taff Valley with panoramic views to the Brecon Beacons in the distance. Hear how the ponies came to be here. Maybe see wild Buzzards soaring on thermals rising from the Valley floor. Visit the gift shop.

Rude & aggressive owners to local community
Mar 2020
While the farm and animal conditions are very good here - they clearly look after the ponies well, the owners, however, are very aggressive towards locals which is unfortunate.

There are many clearly marked hikes and trails up near where the farm is, including a circular walk promoted by the council and even a public right of way across their farm but I warn you DO NOT walk anywhere near this farm. I myself was aggressively approached by them when walking on a public footpath near their boundary. Both my brother and my cousin on separate occasions walking their dogs have also been aggressively approached by them and many more responsible walkers and hikers following clear public paths and right of ways. For people who run a charity, it's disappointing that they seem to have such an approach to local people.

My family and I love horses and I would support this place and bring my kids here more but not after being confronted (with my kids) during a peaceful walk.

Lovely sanctuary
Jul 2018 • Family
This is a lovely sanctuary for ponies and horses. The owner is an excellent guide. You get the chance to meet all the animals and hear their individual stories. They are doing a fantastic job here to give these animals a happy life, after some very difficult experiences.

Lovely place, lovely day out.

If you want a day out with a personal touch, where you are welcomed to somebody's home and guided around the fields by a very knowledgeable and caring lady that knows these horses inside out this is spot on. You are allowed to be in amongst them and able to interact with the horses with the owner there, if you are into this then its perfect for you. If your not very 'horsey' or 'country' maybe a corporate farm park is more your thing! We had a lovely day walking around the fields with the horses and then went into the gift shop where we bought some lovely unique items. Would definitely go again!

Pit pony sanctuary visit
Aug 2015 • Family
Owner was very friendly and helpful during our visit and explained how the horses were looked after and brought to the sanctuary. My grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed the visit and enjoyed the walk around the sanctuary. They are reliant on donations to help run the sanctuary.

We really enjoyed our guided walk around the farm. The ponies and sheep looked very contented and very well cared for in beautiful surroundings. Interesting gifts in the shop too.

Well worth a visit!

Excellent place! Really love what they have done for these once beautiful creatures! It must of been really hard back in the day to get these horses to work so hard down the pits, and probably now, just as hard to feed these animals. I take my hat off to the owners of this great charity attraction.

this is an amazing place for pit ponys really enjoyed the knowledge the person who showed my group around had about each beautifully groomed pit pony but we all felt that there needed to be more this is not a full day pace to visit 30 minutes and most of my group was fed up and ready to leave
