The Wonky Bar

A great little bar with an excellent choice of real ales. Full of real characters - one even asked me to keep an eye on his carpet while he went to the toilet!

The Wonky Bar as it's affectionately known sells excellent Rhymney Brewery beers and is well worth a visit.

To be fair, the staff are really friendly and the Juke Box has very good music. Having said that these are the only good points about this place. Unfortunately, as soon as you enter you are hit with the smell of sweaty bodies and other body gasses which doesn't leave you with any good lasting impressions.

Called in here for a couple, ended up having a few! This is the kind of place you can pass without knowing its there, but when your inside you will find a totally down to earth bar. Great place for a good pint and a chat. You can put the world right with a total stranger here. Try it and... More

lunchtime drinkers smoke & swear outside front door. It's popular but I don't understand why. The venue is better suited to a retail premises.

This place is a must. Really down to earth. Really good company. I go here on my own and I've never had a problem being hassled by men. No food, but that's the way it should be.

good atmosphere but very small inside with limited seating. A typical friendly pub were everybody chats to one and all about anything and everything.

This is a "no frills" bar serving good beer at a very reasonable price. No food just drinks, just as a pub should be !!

Great range of Rhymney ales and a cider. This very popular small bar is near bus station and 10 mins from rail station.A diverse range of customers from early doors to closing with great jukebox to provide your choice of music from 1953 on!!!. Take a break from the Xmas shopping by poping in the Wonkey for swift one?
