Met a group of old friends who all enjoy real ale and couldn't have picked anywhere better! Oldest pub in Pontypridd with plenty of character ( including the landlord). Three real ales on that night to suit different tastes. An old guy turned up with...More

what do you want in a pub, good beer, great company and little else....well that's the Llanover. It's a bit basic when compared with more commercial pubs, but it's a proper pub, with proper beer and proper people

Met with friends there last night. great little pub, always a good choice of beers to be enjoyed in a convivial atmosphere. Seating is not the most comfortable these days but it does the required job for sure & it makes up for that in...More

Everything a proper pub should be , no jukebox, real ales and a miserable barman with dogs welcome but no children.

This is a great unspoilt pub packed with history. No food but usually a great range of beers all kept to perfection. Chris the barman is a legend. He always has a fact to hand for any topic of conversation. You can always get in...More

Cracking real ale, constantly changed due to high throughput. Brains Bitter seems to be the stock ale plus a couple of constantly changing guest ales. Children not allowed. Agree with other reviewers - my local when I visit Pontypridd.

Just like to reiterate what other reviewers have said, a no frills pub but good beer and very reasonably priced wine on offer. From the outside could be viewed as a 'man's pub, but this isn't the case, it has a wide range of customers...More

Yes, i think so. Beer is good. Have to say it looks better from the outside, very basic on the inside but somehow full of character and realxing.
