I was intending to get a street map and buy postcards when I went into the information centre . However as all the staff were busy and we were on a tight schedule , I decided to go to the castle and return later . I had mistakenly left my purse on the counter of the information centre , so... too far from the city centre (bus and train stations) and uphill Personnel not willing to help tourists at all. Won't even offer a map. Just use tripadvisor and avoid the uphill walk to the tourist inforamtion center. It is not worth the stroll

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment regarding your visit to the Stirling information Centre. I was really disappointed to hear that you felt there was lack of willingness from staff in assisting you or offering you a map of Stirling. We arrived at the travel centre a few minutes before 5pm, which was obviously closing time as two of the attendants and were locking up the door. A group of people were walking in as the were locking up, the first stopped to answer there questions. We had a very short question and I said "excuse me" to the second... More

For an entire hour, we ventured around the city centre looking for the tourist information centre which we didn't find. Asking at the train station, we were advised to instead visit the youth hostel which provided us with a map and directions to the castle as well as other tourist locations available in the city. In fact, we only found... More

The centre is well stocked with various gifts and will arrange accommodation for you. Is up to date in event knowledge. The major problem is that it is out of the centre of town and you have a very steep climb to get to it. Not very handy for older or disabled folk.

Ask anything from where the best outlet stores are where to park, how to get to places and opening hours and they will have the answers with a little bit of extra info!

Genuinely interesting talk which spanned a variety of topics about Scotland, and covered all the subjects I was interested in. If you are heading north, you may want to consider this place as a stop; for there will be very few similar motorway services as opposed to going south. There will be local services, and not motorway services.

I found this was too far from the city centre as we did not have a car and had to walk up a very steep hill to get there

Standard stuff in the information centre. The assistant was on the phone to a colleague for most of the time, and when I asked about visiting the gaol { which has, it appears, been closed since 2012} she was very off hand, as if I should have known. I also asked about visiting Argyles lodging, and was given misinformation.
