Followed the signs down a pretty narrow road. Arrived at a lovely little church and read the signs which said that it may, or may not, be the site of Rob Roys grave...nothing else to do around the area

Rob Roy MacGregor is buried in Balquhidder Kirkyard – and it is situated on the lower slopes of the north side of Balquhidder Glen. (Loch Lomond & The Trossachs area )
From the A84 underpass you will see a small sign “ Rob Roys Grave “ and you will need to drive through some beautiful country lanes to find Balquhidder's Parish Church, the ruins of the Old Church it replaced, and the grave of Rob Roy MacGregor. In 1734 the most famous outlawed MacGregor, Rob Roy MacGregor, was buried a little to the east of the Old Church, where he still lays, alongside his wife and two of his sons. The rail around their graves was a later addition, which wrongly reports his age at death as 70.
It is a beautiful resting place - worth the visit.

Visited here on our way home. Definitely worth a visit but some information on the clans would be beneficial, one notice board in at the start of the graveyard didn’t really tell you much! Worth a visit

If you like history like myself if you watch movies with Rob Roy then you need to come and watch his grave.
It’s not much to see but it’s more about the feeling

What a scenic drive to find this historic site. It was out of the way, but well worth the drive. If you don’t mind adventure, make sure to visit. I did not go in the church, but toured the outside.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again - don’t go to the bother of searching the Stirling area for this grave, as it isn’t here. The name of the church is the clue, and it is situated in Balquhidder, which is on the shore of Loch Voil, and is about 35 miles away from Stirling.

Oh - and by the way, although this is an idyllic spot to visit, it is generally accepted that Rob Roy’s remains aren’t actually here at all!

If you're in or around Aberfoyle this wee Kirk yard is well worth the visit. Plenty of old graves to have a look at but more to the point, the main reason to visit is that this is where Rob Roy - heroic Scottish character, immortalised in print and film etc, is buried.

Very simple grave site and if you catch it right, you'll be the only ones there.

Lovely walks around the local area. Lovely churchyard where Rob Roy is buried surrounded by fantastic scenery. Nice circular walk if you go uphill at the side of the church or walk towards the village and cross the bridge & follow the road for a nice walk amidst beautiful scenery.

We stayed in Kippen and were advised to visit Rob Roy's grave - which we dutifully did. While wandering around the church we noticed a walk up to the Boars head (I think I got that right). Needing the exercise we (wife, dog,me) decided to do the walk. In short, the views from the boars head are nothing short of spectacular. Loch Voil knocks spots off Loch Lomond for sheer beauty and the views from the boars head are majestic. Just do this walk - it's not too difficult and the views are worth every step.

The odd inscription on Rob Roy's grave says "McGregor Despite Them" and refers to a time when to be called McGregor meant that you could be arrested as an undesirable, or even hanged, because you belonged to a clan, the members of which were regarded as being outlaws.
The grave is in a lovely peaceful part of the Trossachs and is a suitable resting place for a man who lived and died here, and is now very much a part of Scottish folklore.
