Perfect family day out (except for two small things).
Car park is well sized. Gift shop small and not too eye catching for young kids (like most places). All the climbing equipment looked brand new. Lots of fresh looking paint. Couple of the wee tractors looked a little tired but no biggie. The animal petting was great. Lots of little guinea pigs brought out and placed on a little ledge that is the perfect height for kids to pet them. Tractor ride was good. The driver was informative for the kids and had a good sense of humour for the adults. Cafe is good. Reasonably priced. Fast service. Can recommend the rolls and the panini.
Two things that could be better.
1. The kids pasta with a cheese sauce. The cheese sauce is SUPER runny and not very tasty. Our wee yin loves cheesy pasta (macaroni) - this was the first time they turned their nose up at it. Needs some flour and cheese thrown in it.
2. There is a paid for (£1 a go) set of diggers/water skoosher thing slap bang in the middle of your route as you come through the main way in. As usual that type of thing is a huge distraction for kids and takes away from all the other great things that are nearby to play with. More tears are shed because of those diggers/skooshers in this park than any other single cause.
Best bit that's easy to miss..... the hay barn. That was a lot of fun.
If the cheesy pasta gets sorted and those diggers/skooshers are booted this place is totally knocking it out the park.

Went here last weekend with my husband, our friends and our kids. Kids ranged from a year and a half to 12 years old.
We all had a fantastic time. We took a picnic and there was plenty of picnic tables.
Plenty to do for all ages from jumping pillows ( there is 2 of these for different ages) to football golf to feeding animals and lots of play areas.
We paid £1.50 each for the tractor ride and it’s the best tractor ride I have been on. The man was very knowledgeable about all the animals and encouraged the kids or adults to ask questions. We were very lucky as we got our own tractor ride just for us!
We will definitely go Back!

After booking tickets for 6 and a small mix up with family numbers, the day online was fully booked but I phoned to see if there was any cancellations and was able to add the extra people with absolutely no hassle. Kids aged 3-10. When we arrived the kids didn’t know what to do, everyone wanted to go do something different. There maybe climbing frames etc that you get at local parks but all the equipment was kept clean, bins emptied, littered pick up (not that there was much) clean toilets and the cafe was spotless. The food was very fresh and delicious but could have done with chips and a burger or hotdog. Plenty of picnic areas and seating. The go karts were a big hit with all the kids and the fairy garden is so pretty. Didn’t get to pet or handle any animals but kids didn’t bother as long as they were feeding them. Feeding the goats was the best, more ideas like that needed. Didn’t get to do archery but ran out of time to go back and ask. Golf football was a great laugh and kids loved the hay stack. We picked some strawberries which was a bit of a shock at the till but oh my goodness they are amazing, not stopped eating them and taking about them. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back.

Lovely day today so decided to take my kids last minute to Briarlands. Checked the website as I’m aware it’s Easter weekend, great they take walk ins. So set off on the hour journey to arrive to a sign “pre booked tickets only”! Spoke to a member of staff who was less than helpful and the phone number goes to a message saying we’re busy basically. They eventually posted after 1pm an hour after I was there that no walk-ins will be allowed.
I’ll just book Heads of Ayr or Blair Drummond for next week. At least their site is reliable, and facilities look better also from what I saw. Disgraceful

Great for kids, food diabolical.
Plenty for kids to do, however don’t eat there. I had a mushy fish finger sandwich with some limp lettuce, supermarket bread and a sachet of tartare sauce which I was charged seven quid for. It was thoroughly disgusting, jeez if you can’t provide crispy fish fingers in some decent bread that’s appetising and is put together with a bit of care, it’s time to hand over the catering arrangements to someone who can.
Twenty seven quid for a few bits of pizza for the two boys, my fish finger sandwich, a bowl of soup for the missus two coffees and juice for the boys, all presented like a dogs dinner……

Attended here today (13th Aug) with my Wife, 2 young children ( 3 & 7 ) and their Granny.
Place was busy but not too busy to make us feel unsafe with social distancing.
Plenty of stuff to keep kids entertained, even though Tractor Ride and Animal Handling closed due to Covid. Good to see the staff actively cleaning equipment.
Only disappointment was that the kids meal was half of a sandwich and maybe a handful of pom bear crisps stuck inside a zipper bag, unsure why they could not give a full sandwich and a full bag of crisps, especially for the price!
Think next visit we will be bringing a picnic.

This is an extremely beautiful and friendly place to visit. I took a party of 4 to come see the animals and the staff were very welcoming and accomodating. They went out their way to make sure we had a very positive experience. The animals are clearly very well looked after and loved. Wonderful people working with beautiful animals. Superb. will definitely come again.

Had a fantastic 4 hours of fun with 2 great-grandchildren and their Mum. A very well run family venture with spotlessly clean facilities and good covid protection measures in place. It was hard to persuade the 2 year old that it was time to go home! Considering an annual ticket for next year.

Took my 18 month old during a sunny week day and absolutely loved it. So much better organised, maintained and better value for money than the nearby safari park. Lots of activities for children of all ages, well cared for animals and lots of open space for children to run around in and for picnics. Will definitely return.

I would like to thank the staff at Briarsland Farm for their help in accommodating us on Saturday 23rd April after missing our tractor ride due to an unfortunate blow out on one of our tyres. They went above and beyond to provide an excellent service for us. Thank you very very much.

When using public transport does the bus stop at the cut off for briarlands or do you need to go to the safari entrance and walk back?

The entrance to the Safari park, and to Briarlands are the same road. The road splits into two, the left hand fork goes to the Safari park, the right hand fork goes to Briarlands. { sorry not sure where bus stop is?} Briarlands is quite a long walk down from the main road, I guess, a mile to a mile and a half.
Enjoy hope this helps.

There are pigs but you won't be able to pet them. You can however put food through a tube for them to eat
