I was surprised about how much I could recall after my visit about the battle and general history of the time. I knew very little going into the experience so I got a lot out of it. I wasn't with my children but I think it would be a great place to take them.

Enjoyed the video segments and the interactive exhibition when you could hear different participants view point. However the interactive battle was a bit disappointing. The participants cannot really know what to do and therefore the pace is very slow ( and becomes a bit boring as they make decisions) however the presenter was extremely knowledgeable and tried to help but... This really is a fun few hours and not at all what you expect when you visit a battle site. It is all very media based with first a 3d experience of what it would be like to be in the battle. then an nexplanation of the key players on both sides and then a chance to renact the battle... More

If you go to Stirling Castle, don't bypass the Battle of Bannockburn which was a definitive defeat of the English by the Scottish in 1314, led by Robert the Bruce. The outdoor monument is touching, as well as awesome in its simplicity.

I took my 10 year old son and his friend here. We weren't sure what to expect, but what a great time we all had. Very well laid out, staff definitely know their stuff, lots of interactive things to do, from learning about both the Scottish & English perspective on the Battle of Bannockburn, to role playing in a virtual... After twisting our kids arms to allow us some culture during the hols I was semi-dreading how fast their boredom would kick in but far from it! From the moment we arrived the staff were engaging and helpful. Also you can tell that they are passionate about their subject matter. A special thank you to the male guide with ginger... More

Great museum and beautiful grounds. We loved the outdoor area and the beautiful views back to Stirling Castle that provided an incredible background to the large statue of Robert the Bruce. Well worth the visit.

We visited recently, plenty of parking, couldn't get in to the 3D experience as it was booked out, however we walked around the centre and spent a deal of time exploring and talking to staff who were very helpful and informative. The usual souvenir shop with an array of items. You could have a picnic here if the weather was... More
