Frankly, I was bored with the silly game of moving the troops around a board. There is a 3-D 360 degree film strip explaining the two sides and what happened that is somewhat interesting. But overall the experience did not live up to the price paid. Perhaps if you like battle board games? But I am a middle-aged lady from... More

What a brilliant experience this is!With English friends in tow there was the ultimate embarrassment that the English won the interactive battle and Bruce was killed. We dodged arrows having donned 3D specs. The film explaining the background eg the participants and weapons was an excellent introduction.Knowledgeable experts do explain the actual battle though. Then it was on to the welcoming cafe, gift shop... The Battle of Bannockburn was fought over two days, on 23 and 24 June 1314. Led by King Robert Bruce and the English King Edward II, Bannockburn became the most unlikely victory against heavy odds for the Scots.

I couldn't recommend The Battle of Bannockburn Experience highly enough. I had no idea what to expect when my husband suggested it - but thankfully there was no dressing up! It's very unique - 3D glasses on, watching projections, learning about the battle and then participating (or watching!) a battle game. You are led through the whole experience as a... More

The BOB Experience is probably best for families with children, but we who are long past that stage of life found the experience a good learning experience and fun. The most important factor in a visitor's enjoyment is likely to be expectations going in. The experience is divided into two parts. First, you learn in 3D how Medieval combatants armed... More

We visited expecting it to be good but were really impressed with the experience. The staff were great, the chap who ran our battle game was so enthusiastic and had plenty of knowledge to share. We visited with a teen and a 7 yr old and both children had a great time as they got to be royalty for the... More

The centre at Bannockburn takes you through step by step on the battle and the conditions they were fighting in. The re-enactment is great fun whether you want to take part in the fighting (all computerised) or just watch them playing it out. Well worth the visit.

This proved to be a very expensive visit for little reward. The U S P is a 3D experience which, superficially, seems very clever. However, you are then invited to relive the Battle of Bannockburn and the result can be very different from the original. I found this most confusing. It would have been far better to at least show... More

Although our multi award winning experience may not be to everyone’s taste. We are always truly disheartened to read that a visitor did not their visit. The game which is a part of the exhibition permits the visitor to take control of either army and provides the opportunity to fight the battle as they may have. Naturally, very few have... More
