    Scotland great history comes alive
A great place to visit. Guide info was very informative. A place I meant to visit many times and now ticked off as done, and well worth it. The screens depicting the battle were mesmerising.

A great visit if you have a couple of hours to spare.
The battle of Bannockburn experience is definitely worth a visit if you have a few hours to spare. It is definitely worth the money you pay at £7.50 for an adult ticket. The experience lasts around an hour, after which you have time to have a walk around the grounds. Kirsty, our tour guide, was very polite and welcoming. She was very knowledgeable on the battle and her bubbly personality made the experience very enjoyable. You get an idea of the troops that were at the battle and then an in depth look at how the two day battle played out. Once the indoor experience is over, you have the opportunity to explore the grounds and although there is not much to explore, you do get to have a look at some very striking monuments where the battle occurred. Overall, a very worthwhile experience for the money you pay.

They tried their best to bring it to life
OK, it is a battlefield but Scottish National Trust cannot just put a fence around it and say this is where one of the most important battles in Scottish History occurred. They have made a brave attempt to bring the battle to life within the new heritage centre with an immersive experience. This includes a surround four screen explanation although it did not feel quite right. Perhaps because the characters are much larger than life size and the action appeared to be stilted Also included in the experience was a 12-15 minute explanation of the course of the battle. All this was delivered by a guide who appeared to have an east-european accent. Hats off to her! I would not have liked to deliver a 12 minute talk in a second language but she did do very well indeed. As I said, a good attempt that does not quite come off. The external site includes the monument to the fallen warriors and the iconic statue of Robert the Bruce and explanation boards. Entry to the site is free but the guided immersive experience has to be paid for (£7.50 for an adult). Free site entry also includes a gift shop and café that we did not use so cannot comment upon.

    Underwhelming visit
Unfortunately the interactive part was fully booked (although National Trust members it was our fault for not booking in advance). Visited the cafe, which was very disappointing. The Cappuccino was a warm milky coffee with absolutely no froth, the bridies (which took quite some time to arrive as they were getting warmed up), were lukewarm, and the cutlery wasn’t clean. The windows, from which we could have admired the view, could do with a clean. The wall out to the battlefield was pleasant, and the dressing up area was fun.

    Amazing visitors center and your
This visitors center has been completely changed since I was there years ago. I wish I could remember our tour guides name. He took us to the “battle room” and I loved how the information about the battle was presented (to give you an idea — my 7 year old was able to retell the entire battle to his Gran that night). Enjoyable afternoon especially with being able to play dress up too!!

    Great value for money.
Had been before, but returned with my partner. She thought it was brilliant value for money. There isa guided tour, with audio visuals and a map of battle area. They guide talks you through the battle lead up and all the action. You then got o area, were examples of battle scenes, kind of surround you. A bit avatar style. They have the usual gift shop. Huge range of stuff. A nice café too. Staff at the centre are nice and helpful.

Highly informative experience delivered by experts.
We made a last minute decision to visit the centre. The next tour was in 45 minutes time and we amused ourselves while we waited being guided through trying on armour, helmets and the like which was not only interesting but much more fun than we had expected. The tour itself was pitched at just the right level. Informative, very well presented with dioramas, animation and narration. The guide was clearly an expert in his field and was able to answer any question out to him irrespective of depth. Had a drink at the restaurant which was modern, well run and efficient (nice pot of tea too!). Great afternoon and difficult to see how the experienced could have been improved. Thank you.

    Very good!
Visited on a Sunday after realising the previous Friday we had to book in advance. Good tour, guide Callum (who was fantastic!) was very informative and engaging! A few tech issues meant some of the experience was changed which is a shame but hopefully they get this sorted soon. Lasted about an hour then went to the other rooms and explored. Loved the dress up room - see pic of hubby (we found this hilarious). Outside monuments and music in the misty afternoon weather was eery and atmospheric. Would recommend to all!

    Great Tour with Warwick!
First trip to the battlefield/visitor centre and so assumed it was a self guided tour. However we were offered a tour of the centre with Warwick and we were very grateful we went on it. The exhibitions themselves are fantastic; the information is spot on (and no trace of nationalism or bias), the animations are cleverly done in visualising battle strategies and weapon handling is interactive. Warwick definitely enhanced an already brilliantly done exhibition space and he’s really a credit. He injected enough humour to keep things personable and light but his knowledge of the battle was exceedingly impressive as were his storytelling skills.

    Great - worth a visit.
An enjoyable visit to the Bannockburn experience. Our guide was excellent - knowledgeable and fun answering all questions asked. Films are good and good interactive area although not all of the exhibits were working. Nice gift shop, cafe and good to be able to walk out to the memorial and battlefield. Worth a visit for this important event in Scottish history.

We didn’t pay to take part in the tour/visit the display area, so for us it was a free, but rather underwhelming experience. The design of the building itself doesn’t work very well; there isn’t a reception/welcome area as such, instead you have to go through the shop and talk to the person behind the till. The toilets are so subtle that the staff have had to stick laminated signs on the doors to show visitors what they are. There’s some signage and a couple of displays near the cafe to explain what happened in 1314. You then enter the grounds through a glass fire exit door by the cafe. Outside there is the huge rotunda and Robert the Bruce statue, and an attempt to explain the history, but it doesn’t engage.

There is a lot to see and do in the grounds for free, however the charge for the experience is not huge and I would recommend you do this to broaden your knowledge. It's Covid safe so support it if you can, everyone is trying really hard. Cafe is exellent.

I am sure this attraction merited it’s 5 star review when it opened in 2014 but the graphics are now woefully dated. National Trust for Scotland need to update the technology for current visitors. On a positive note the guide was very knowledgeable However the door to which we were directed to leave the building and access the battefiled, which was also a fire exit, was locked.

I walked from the impressive Wallace monument to Bannockburn which are sited either side of Stirling – a great city in its own right. The battleground is quite sparse and situated in a built-up area. However, the interactive centre is excellent, the café really nice and the circular memorial and Robert the Bruce statue give you a flavour of what went on so many years ago. There are some really nice touches, such as the painting in the café depicting what the battle may have looked like from a bird’s eye viewpoint. The huge windows in the centre look out to green fields and hide the town in which the centre is located. The centre looks new and the toilets were spotlessly clean.

Sunny beautiful day to walk the grounds of where Robert the Bruce defeated the evil English to establish Scottish rule . The entire battle scenes are depicted inside for an hour long presentation with vivid animation, live storytelling and actual weaponry . It makes Scottish history come to life in an easily digestible narrative . Well worth the time . The storyteller presents a map of the actual battle in a rotunda , then you are taken into a room where shrek-like animation depicts the carnage . Actual people involved in the battle are around the exterior where their personal stories are told .I highly recommend doing this PRIOR to visiting Stirling Castle so you appreciate the strategic positions .

Should have been great, wasn’t.
The technology wasn’t working, the building was ‘baltic’ and the guide, whose voice was at best muffled, admittedly nothing could be done due to Covid, delivered her lines in a monotone fashion with no intonation as if she did this six times a day… which she said she did.
This should be a highlight for visitors wishing to know about one of the most important events in Scottish history … just walk the battlefield and see the monument, forget this bit.
They really need to get their act together

We booked the full Bannockburn Experience, arrived early and asked if we could do an earlier tour. The people in the centre were very helpful and said there was space for the next tour so we went on that.
The gentleman who did the experience tour for us was excellent, engaging with the people on the tour, answering all questions clearly. He spoke very well and obviously had a wealth of knowledge on the subject which made the tour a very rewarding experience. Didn’t catch the name of the guide, but he was from the North East of England, and he is a real asset to the centre and should be applauded.
The outside of the centre is open to the public and seemed quite popular with dog walkers on the Sunday morning we visited. Whilst a wide open space, it was smaller than we expected but was pleasant enough for a mid morning stroll.

I booked the Bannockburn Experience online and it was very easy to get to by bus from Stirling. Its set in a lovely park with the Robert the Bruce statue. We had a very friendly welcome and there was a nice cafe where we had a drink before we started the experience. It started with a video then we sat around a map of the battlefield whilst we heard about the battle. We were then taken into a room where the battle was going on around us with giant cinema screens on all sides. There was then another video to finish. I've not been anywhere like this before and it was very immersive. I enjoyed every minute and it would be excellent for children. The facilities there were good with toilets and also a 'dress up' room where you could get dressed up ready for battle and take photos. We had lunch at the cafe which was delicious and then a walk around the park. I really enjoyed this and would recommend going outside of Stirling to visit.

I am not a battlefield person, but my husband loves them, however following the visit to the Bannockburn centre I am a changed person. The whole experience was great. On arrival we were greeted and clearly informed of the process. We had time to visit the exhibition outside which explained events over periods of time. We then walked to the rotunda . This is an easy walk and there is access for wheelchairs. The music playing provided additional atmosphere to this historical site. Encircling the top of the rotunda is a poem by Kathleen Jamie. I won't spoil the experience for other people but the words are beautiful and emotive.
We then experienced the battle of Bannockburn through audio, visual aids, further enhanced by the skilled storyteller and our guide. As English Heritage members were had free access. Thank you for giving me a lovely memory.

This tour was so informative. The guide was amazing and injected some humour to what really was a horrific battle .
The animation that help you visualise what happened over those 2 days brings everything to life .
Outside is worth visiting to see the rotunda and listen to the hauntingly beautiful music and ,of course, the magnificent statue of Robert the Bruce
