Lots of restoration work taking place to bring this castle back to former glories. Nice walks in the gardens and close to the town centre. Worth a visit when finished

Food great. Staff very helpful. Would definitely return. Pity is up several stairs. Very clean. Very popular. Think it used to be a house.

I found the castle by accident wondering around Bishop Auckland, whist you couldn’t see much of the castle due to restoration works, wondering around the park was pleasant enough.

Lovely visit, surprised how much land the park covers. Lovely for a dog walk, right in the town centre, so handy for pubs and cafes. Will be back when the castle reopens.

Unfortunately we could only visit the grounds as there is still lots of building work going on, However, the building itself is worth seeing with the lovely gardens and park nearby,
