My twin brother Stephen and I decided to go to Tap & Bottles as we were wandering around this part of town and what a very pleasant time we had .
I loved the look of this bar,a dark ,cosy interior, eclectic decor and furnishings including a superb looking serving bar and some vintage beer enamels adorning the walls, theres also plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar, a very cool bar indeed.
We were here on a Friday evening, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the staff, we gave our details of name and phone number to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands and ordered a beer each, we chose a dark stout beer ,these were served in excellent condition, we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great bar we were in.
My stout was really good, a malty stout, consistent from the first sip till the last sup, very refreshing, a totally delicious brew ,my twin brother Stephen also gave me a thumbs up to his stout.
We both really enjoyed our stouts in here ,our visit was only fleeting as we were also going to visit The Hungry Monk Pub next door but we had a really good time.
Taps & Bottles is easy to locate along Cambridge Walks.
A great bar ,if your in the area most definitely well worth a visit.

Nice and cosy. A good selection of ales. Friendly staff. Dog friendly. Games consoles and a jukebox! Sounds great doesn’t it!

I only have one small complaint. The music is so quiet near the back - we popped a few songs on the jukebox and barely heard them. We asked for it to be turned up but made no difference.
It appeared to be louder near the door as we were leaving.

Stumbled on this by accident, tucked away in an arcade.
Table service due to the situation.
Some nice ales on and a great red wine.
There were a few others sitting outside in the corridor next to an antique shop and a few locals pulling up chairs too. Everyone was chatting and a great little atmosphere.
Would definitely go back.

First off like many other people I’m not a beer drinker but my friends are and so I join them here, usually under silent duress! A non beer drinker can get a limited number of other drinks . I do however feel that this place would not win any cleanliness awards. The tables always look dirty and it’s nothing short of chaotic behind the bar. The outside seating isn’t great and neither is it comfy but if you love beer I doubt that would bother you.

Nice to see that you’re open again.
I had a pint of draught stout here yesterday and it was delicious proper beer.
A favourite spot in the historic Cambridge walks with a friendly atmosphere.
Great selection of beers.

This place is that bad that after my first pint I decided to stop for four more so I could hate the place for longer, I'll being going back again in the near future so I cannot like again. ;-)

What a cracking little bar, friendly staff, friendly customers and enough choice in beers to ensure that you cannot possibly get bored with the same drink no matter how long you stay to not like it for even longer.

Very quirky and characterful place. Hidden gem in the arcades. Copious amounts of choice on the crafty shelves! Excellent draft selection, which changes daily or as demand leads! No lifers on tap, so a new experience each time you come in, for the discerning beer drinker it's like christmas morning on each visit... Some lovely quality wines and fizz. They do coffee too judging by the complicated looking machine - not tried that yet....but it is a beer shop when all said and done! That leaves food and staff. Pretzels are huge. Snacks plentiful. And staff and proprietor, friendly, knowledgeable, relaxed and very welcoming! Well worth a visit or three....!

Been here a few times, in fact we are popping in this afternoon
No room to swing a cat but that's what makes it so good
Loads of great craft beers, knowledgeable staff and lovely warm atmosphere
Every time me and the Mrs are in southport we call in
Go and enjoy yourself

We were down here on a real ale pub crawl,we had read about this beer bar on T.A .and knew it was a good real ale outlet
Before we went in here we went to the HUNGRY MONK next door, great bar, little bit on the expensive side.
The TAP & BOTTLE was the opposite, great priced beer's and a great choice, busy but not packed.
Loved the layout of this beer bar, superb bar ,great upstairs ,very cosy with nice decor, very beery as for the ground level bar ,nice small serving bar with 4 tap's and an amazing array of bottle's from around the world.superb range of both bottle & draught beer 's on offer.
We were here on a Wednesday afternoon and there were 6 or 7 people in here but to me the passing trade that came in here and bought bottle's for home consumption was were i think the main trade come's from.
We had ale's from STONE DRY BREWERY,a stout which was just superb, great taste and an ale we had never tried before,i like the concept of beer bar's like this and will certainly be coming back to this establishment when we return to Southport.
Very easy to locate ,exit Southport train ,turn left onto CHAPEL STREET ,heading toward's M & S and you will find this beer mecca in CAMBRIDGE ARCADE.
Opening hours are;
Monday & Thursday.midday till 11pm.
Friday & Saturday,midday till midnight.
Sunday,midday till 10.30.
Great bar and well worth a visit

What a brilliant little pub.

Cambridge Walks in Southport seems to have been 93% empty for decades. Then all of a sudden this pub pops up.

It's a little bit bigger than your front room. All sorts of masterpiece bottled beers are shelved around the walls, and there's loads of good stuff on tap.

Places like this show the way forward. It's friendly, the clientele are like you, and the beer is clearly chosen by connoisseurs.

It's the exact opposite of all that's wrong with old school pubs.

Drink here!
