Interesting ottoman era bridge. It is a short drive from Shkodra (do not trust google maps directions, as you approach the bridge, drive on a straight line). The is free parking right next to the bridge.
The water of the river is crystal blue, however the river banks are full of plastic bag, probably due to flood events.

Finding this landmark is not easy, or else we just weren't very smart. From where we were in the city we just had a hard time finding our way out of town and to the bridge, and our gps was no help. Luckily I had a picture of the bridge on my tablet which we would stop and show people and via handsigns from friendly Albanians, we finally found the bridge. We got some nice human interest photos because there was a happy group of boys swimming under the bridge in the sun. There's a place to park, from where you can take pictures looking over to the bridge , and you can walk to the bridge too. It's a lovely area, but unfortunately people dump household trash everywhere, including old food, so you have to overlook the smell and eyesore of garbage.

We arrived here by car. For a trip to Albania we rented a car from EasyRentCars.com - we have been using their services for a long time, a reliable company with a large selection and good prices.
We recommend putting cars behind the bridge, there is little space.
Next, take a walk along the bridge and at the opposite side you will find benches - from here the most impressive views open!
The bridge itself is beautiful, and the panorama behind it!

We are a group of friends hikers who are traveling in Albania, hiking, riding the bus and sailing in the big rivers. Shkodër is a nice town combining the old and the new. Very colorful, lots of interesting hoses and restaurants . Walking in the streets and enjoying the mingling with the locals

It is indeed a picture of the Mes bridge but this bridge cannot be viewed from the Rozafa castle since it is situated at a completely different place way out of the city!

Not far from Shkoder.
It's the perfect place to go when it's very hot (you can swim there).
Old bridge with turquoise water. A very nice place.

Wow, the Ura e Mesit (Bridge) North of Shkodër is gorgeous. It sits 8km north and the public transport does not go there. We asked a taxi driver from the north end of town and he agreed to 500LEK to take us there wait and take us back. The road going is under construction and isn't the prettiest but it was worth the trip (and 500 LEK is around $4).

This is the place where all the young people scamper down to from the overlooking school to be brave and 'get cool' in the clear, clean but icy cold water under the bridge.
