A very pretty restaurant with bit sofas and chairs. We arrrived late in the afternoon so they may have given us large portion towards the end of the day. We both have steal pie with mash and beautiful local vegetables. It was a very hearty meal.

Called in for full english breakfasts before tackling the 5 hour journey home. Ordered breakfasts and coffees , coffees arrived ,waited about 5/10 mins and waitress bought meals. They were JUST warm.... as they were busy and we were anxious to get on the road before traffic built up we ate as quickly as possible before "warm " turned to cold. Couldn't see anyone to complain to as people were coming in all the time, mostly workmen, but we did actually remark as we passed a table on the way out that the beans on a man's breakfast were steaming....lucky man! Very disappointed as it's a lovely cafe in a beautiful spot.

Very expensive
Aug 2012
The pottery is really nice once you have painted it however it is really overpriced I think, I did enjoy painting my plate but when they tell you how much you've spent it kind of bounces back and you forget that you've had a nice time. The cafe is also expensive and they don't let you take your own food in to eat so if you are thinking of going here don't go at lunch because you will end up spending a fortune.

We took the kids here on a rainy day with the promise of painting some pottery and taking it home with us.
When we arrived the staff were miserable and didn't engage with us at all.
We were left alone for the best part of 30 minutes and had to constantly ask for colour pots which were empty or missing.
In the end we only allowed the older children to paint as the staff were unprepared and unwilling to accomodate younger children.
To top off the experience, we were told that the pots wouldn't be ready in time for us leaving and we would have to pay to have them posted. When they arrived they had been damaged.

Wouldn't recommend it unless the weather is awful and you've expended all other options.
