Went several times during a short break in Tenby, excellent selection and quality of beer. Our Jack Russell terrier was made very welcome and enjoyed a fuss from everyone.

Disappointing
Nov 2021
What a shame! The restaurant is inviting, nicely laid out and we were made to feel very welcome on arrival. After a long wait one meal arrived - it was cold and had to go back to the kitchen to be heated up - advertised as a Hake Burger (£16), the key factor was the accompanying Samphire and Seaweed Butter - neither of which were on the plate. I felt a bit self-conscious by this point but did ask a member of the staff team about them - later on a different member of the team came over, put a fiver on the table and said there was no samphire - the kitchen hadn't told them. It felt odd to be honest and, whilst the fiver was an acknowledgement, it didn't make me feel any better! My partner had the £18 Hake which looked the same as mine (except for the dry bun) and with potatoes and greens. The potatoes were not cooked through but we'd had enough of calling on the busy staff by then and just left them on the plate. Great chips, nice enough Hake (though mine never was very hot). It is a shame, it could have been so much better without too much effort.

The Welsh botanical gin was really good, food was good but super salty. Limited seating and really loud atmosphere when we went - not the place for a cosy pub meal

Enjoyed the exceptional real ale on offer, the helpful, friendly staff added a great deal to our experience. David you are excellent ambassador for the brewery keep up the good work. Food was very enjoyable and we will most definitely return.

Was a little disappointed when seen Buccaneer had been takin over, as always enjoyed our time and meals here. We were pleasantly surprised, refurbishment has been done through out, making in more comfortable and inviting.
The menu is not as big but what we had was quality and potions were generous, my husband who is a picky steak eater, said it was probably one of the best he had eaten. We will be back.

Shelter in the Harbwr, if you know where to go
Oct 2021
Tenby was heaving with people on a windy, drizzly half term Saturday. Every eatery looked packed - and then we found the Harbwr Brewery tucked into a little alleyway and a sign saying “Tap Room Upstairs, turn left and open the door”. So we went a bit doubtfully up typical metal brewery stairs, turned left and found a restaurant with two largish rooms and lots of covered outdoor booths. Great!

It’s a simple menu and you have to be prepared to wait a while for food to arrive (one mother got really desperate when her husband decided he would use the time to test his kids in their subtraction and division knowledge) but the beer battered fish and chips was superb and the fresh crab sandwich was generously filled, within good sourdough bread. Compared with cramming ourselves into a busy pub, this was definitely a better place to take shelter. And apparently the beer was good too.

Great Ale

What a gem, right in the heart of Tenby. Well worth taking some time away from the beach to enjoy this brewing experience, and then the reward of one or two quite wonderful locally produced ales. Great!!

Nice brewery. The tap and kitchen is a lovely spot too with nice service. There’s a lovely Irish lady working there who really makes the place.

Poor experience at Harbwr - Tenby
This Pub was previously the Buccaneer, which was an amazing place to eat and drink. Since rebranding as Harbwr the service is terrible and the majority of staff are rude. The food is okay but not what it used to be. If you can find somewhere else do yourself a favour! Shame, first came in 2000, given it three chances in 2021 which have all been awful!!

Great food, friendly staff and Amazing Beer
Sep 2021 • Couples
Visited the ‘Harbwr’ a few times during our holiday this week. Formerly ‘the buccaneer’ A pub with its own micro Brewery attached. An amazing selection of cask and bottled ales as you’d expect but also a great range of lagers wines etc.

We dined here a couple of times too, and each time the food was simple but great. A lovely outdoor covered eating area out the back and a wonderful alleyway with tables where you could get drinks form a counter at the entrance to the brewery. It was lovely to sit there listening to live music. A great continental feel.

The staff were great too. I would like to give a particular mention to the lady with the dark pinkish hair who took the orders in the outside dining area who seemed to know everything about every drink and every meal. As well as explaining about how it all worked to customers. An asset to your business, this lady never sat still, sweeping up wiping and clearing tables in between doing her own job.

Thank you to all the staff at the Harbwr

Our favourite pub in Tenby by far.
