Very informative guided tour. Detailed and amusing. The guide is a great story teller, she had us enthralled. Didn't see any ghosts. Kept us all entertained for an hour on a rainy day. Just finished lunch in the cafe. Tasty and good value. Nice gardens. A "must see" on any trip to the area. Buy tickets online for discounts.

This is a lovely, historic manor house which has been kept in great condition. You can had a guided or unguided tour. The staff were very friendly and helpful and there is lots of information around to tell you about the rooms and furniture etc. There is also some lovely gardens along with a tea room if you need some... The guided tour was informative and a little on the spooky side. The house is fascinating and intriguing and our guide laced it with a little humour. After our tour, we snacked on some crumpets and tea and headed off to investigate the tranquil gardens. Over all, a very nice place to spend a morning.

Interesting tour with knowledgable guide. Enjoyed the ghost story's and also the history of the house? We had a delicious cream tea and enjoyed a walk round the pretty gardens and surroundings.

A friendly and very knowledgeable guide led us through the house and told us a lot about life in this house and in this coastal area in a long past times.

Pros - Gorgeous setting. Dog friendly. Quiet and beautiful gardens. Cons - No towels provided. No wifi. For the price you pay these should really be as standard. Ilfracombe has a wonderful tapas restaurant. You should go there.

Nice manor house, with a most haunted theme. The girls loved it....but they are into ghosts! As a staunch sceptic I'm not so keen.... but the guide was excellent and really made an effort....but im just a sourpuss. No dogs in the house but lovely walks around the site and grounds.

Visited with my sister in September 2015 and cannot recommend this enough it was so good, would definitely visit here again! We were lucky enough to get a guided tour in a small group and the lady doing the tour kept the attention of the whole group at all times and was so knowledgeable. The cafe was also very nice!

I visited with an adult with special needs. We arrived on a Wednesday to find that our only option was a guided tour at £3 per head more expensive than unguided. There was no reduction for an adult with a disability and a carer. Although the guided tour was very good and informative there was no option to then go... More
