We were staying close by and visited several times. There are walks to do all over the reserve and hides to sit in too. We enjoyed the look out point close to the car park. Thoroughly recommend. Combine it with Ruthven Barracks.

Absolutely beautiful reserve, the definition of wild, raw wilderness, the harsher the elements, the better the experience, less people equals more birds and some pearls too, not the rarest but ones to warm your cockles on a bitter day. Walked all around Lock Insh due...More

As we finished a long 8 mile walk, we came through the Insh Marshes. A wonderful location, tranquil and imagine it would change with the seasons. Spotted a pair of golden eagles - how lucky were we. We didn't visit the hides on this occasion,...More

Great walks around the site with excellent hides too. Limited car parking. Just hope the marshes aren't spoilt when they upgrade the A9.
