Great waymarked trail going through a varied landscape with great views (highlands, fields, moors, forest). Definitely necessary to pre-book hotels in peak season because the villages are small and partly have only 1-2 hotels with 3 rooms each. It is definitely suitable for inexperienced hikers and families with kids (I would say >age 4). For an experienced hiker like myself... More

Did the walk over 5 days and was truly blessed by excellent weather - no rain and no midges. Good signage and fabulous scenery - loved it.

Well signed and to the route outlaid in Rucksack readers. Could have been a bit boggy in places if the weather had not been so perfect. Saw lots of wildlife and some fantastic views.

This was our 14th long distance path and it is excellent. It's at the shorter end of the spectrum at 64 miles but is wonderfully varied. It goes from rolling farmland, to pine forest, to high moorland, to a 2000 ft mountain pass, to sweeping glens and back to rolling farmland. Great wildlife, deer, hares, red squirrel, and a plthora... More

Started from Blairgowrie and did four overnights on a round trip. Had our posh clothes bag shifted from GlenShee to Alyth. After hail and showers and sunshine on day one, we were very lucky to walk most of the trail under blue skies. Fabulous views, snow still on the mountains and a little on the Trail. Late March and half... More

This 64 mile walk starts/finishes in Blairgowrie usually taking 5/6days. I have done most of it in small day chunks though the longest part from Bridge of Cally to Spittal of Glenshee is stunning scenery though quite rough in places. If you like distance walking this is certainly a good route and is well supported by local B&B and Glenisla... More

The trail can be done as a multiple-day expedition but individual sections can be done as very good shorter walks or runs. There is an interesting change in land use as you progress. You encounter towns and villages, farmland, forestry regions and areas of high, bleak moorland. The northern section takes walkers over a high pass on the edge of... More

Nice Trail : had some great views of wildlife. Would recommend it to beginner-walkers. Our landlord that evening suggested we walk 2 miles past Spittal of Glenshee , making the distance on two consequous days more even. Last leg should have been 26 km but a fallen marking made it 30, otherwise well waymarked route.
