What a turn off
Jun 2021
We fancied a walk along the pier - out of the question. It is full of machines and tacky side shows with an entrance fee.

Not worth playing any machines on Sandown Pier
Worse Machines in Country

Most of them go wrong, many you lose your money when you put coins in, many of the machines are dated and go wrong.

"Stay away"

What's the point of playing, you lose your money and If you do win anything and the machines go wrong you do NOT get your money!

Poor show.

RIP off
Jul 2021 • Family
Complete rip off. We came here last year and each of the grabbers just do not grab. If you want to waste your money then come here.

The Pier like Sandown itself, I found disappointing
Jul 2021
Covid rules made this a very disappointing visit. You had to walk through the arcade to get out to the pier and then there was not much happening. Probably it would have been great for kids but not so great for adults without children. My overall assessment may have been also the fact that a lot of hotels along the front were derelict and in need of repair so overall the whole visit was very disappointing.

Covid 2m directions/placement were everywhere but nobody appeared to take any notice of the arrows on the floor just like in the supermarkets

I came here expecting like it use to be 30 years ago and like a lot of places, I felt it had become run down and needed a cash injection to bring it back to life. Quite sad really.

A lovely long pier at Sandown, nice if its not a good day outside, plenty of fun, and well worth a visit, if your in the area.

Not too bad
Jun 2021 • Family
We visited on quite a miserable day weather wise
Parked on the front and had a walk down to the pier.
I was quite shocked how run down sandown appeared in general.
Got a bit put off by a few drunks hanging around at the entrance....as well as coming out if the bar inside.
The pier itself was ok.a bit dirty and old inside but has that old school seaside feel which we like
Arcade great for kids.mine enjoyed it..we walked to the end of the pier and the cafe is lovely.doughnuts were so nice.as were the
milkshakes and churros.
Some nice bars and restaurants along the front which I'm sure would be lovely when the weather is good

Scruffy Jacks on the Pier
Jun 2021
Scruffy Jacks Bar

Nice pub, with views over the ocean, prompt service and great prices, just a nice place to sit relax and play a few rounds of cards.

Worth a visit if you are looking for a pub in Sandown.

Friendly staff, covid measures in place.

Good, Clean Fun!
Jun 2021
Really impressed by the cleanliness and Covid prevention measures here. Plenty of family fun to be had and a cafe towards the end of the pier.

Very dated and run down but still charming
May 2021 • Family
A whole days fun in one is boldly displayed on the side of the pier which is ambitious to say the least. If you have kids you could probably spend a few hours in the arcade or at the mini fairground at the end of the pier. There is an old fashioned charm about the place with all the traditional amusements a pier should have. It also has a bar, a cafe and a shop selling the usual seaside items. It is difficult to resist getting a pot of 2p pieces and playing penny drop games. A good haven if it’s raining.

Good family fun
Jun 2021 • Family
Everything you would expect from a seaside arcade pier. Slightly worn but good fun for the kids. Everything was in good working order and the arcade is huge. The indoor golf was fantastic and good value. The cafe towards the end of the pier was a hit with the kids with plenty of kid friendly treats
