It’s a bit of a tradition now for me and my partner to have a couple of drinks on a Wednesday afternoon. We normally kick off in here and enjoy our drinks in the little snug . This is one of my favourite pubs traditional and full of character, which provides free food on the counter including soup and pastries on a Wednesday. We have also visited On a fri and Saturday night for the live music 🤟.

Following my last disappointment Emma invited us today and they certainly redeemed themselves. Staff were friendly and helpful, food was delicious and piping hot and the portions more acceptable. We will definitely go again for lunch and suggest this is a place to put on your “to visit “ list. Many thanks to everyone involved.

Visited this pub with friends my friend fell asleep so we ordered a taxi, just after that the bar staff came over and took the drink and told us to get her out and said she was disgusting.saying what has she had she had the wine that they served her and also knew she was drunk when serving her, then went on to scream and swear in my face, never have I been in a pub and been treat like that, I went back to see the manager at 6.00 the lad behind the bar said he was the manager then a lady came in and said she was the maneger and to be honest they were as bad, none of them should be working in a pub with an appalling attitude like they have, disgusted isn't the word !!!!!

We are here most weeks and have never been disappointed. Always fresh and plenty of it. Staff are friendly and would recommend this place to anyone.

Arrived for a meal, all chilled out! Tall dark haired barman very unhappy with him self!! Very rude and obnoxious, one hell of a chip on his shoulder!! But well held off, beer was OK, wasn't happy about a few samples!! Meal clashed on the table!! Rubbish!! don't know if it was the Friendly welcome?? we got put or taste buds?? But all 4 had the same opinion !! Been back of band nights ! Seems OK, but the Guy has the same chip on both shoulders !! Serving all the local aging Bikers !! 2 night a week pub! GIVE IT A BIG MISS!! Better next door at the Town House!!

The Ox is a traditional pub that now offers food to add to its already well established reputation as a weekend music venue. We have drank at the Ox for many years and at first we did wonder about the idea of cooked meals but no need to worry.
The kitchens have been totally refitted and the food was really hot and fresh at a reasonable price. This could be a new direction for this popular old venue.
We will try the Sunday lunch next!

Called in to try the Sunday lunch on a recommendation of a friend. We initially tried at 2pm the previous Sunday but they had ran out of meals, not to be put off we tried again at 12:30 the following week. We were in luck - had a choice of 3 portion sizes foolishly my husband tried the largest -OMG!!! Plate was loaded with beautifully prepared and cooked fresh veg and the beef - just like mum used to make. It was one of those meals that even though you are full the food is so delicious you just have to clear you plate. Fabulous... Just fabulous.
The staff were brilliant too very helpful place an authentic proper pub just brilliant.
Would I go back again ..... Of course try and stop me fabulous place food staff and atmosphere

We have had sunday lunch here four times. The meat and five vegetables and large yorkshire pudding were always

We went for Meatloaf & Tina Turner tribute was great sounds drinks were not expensive well worth going it did get packed out but really good so keep your eye open for net live music enjoy

I used to go to this pub every weekend but since the refurbishment I'll not be back. The dramatically dropped prices have attracted the worst of customers. The management have let go the best bar staff they had and appear to have no clue what makes a welcoming, friendly pub!
