We booked our Daughters engagement party here and the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. It's just a shame that we had to ask for loo roll for the ladies very early on in the evening and the cleanliness lets it down. The wooden slatted blinds on the windows are thick of dust and very visible for all to see with the sun shinning and the table tops need a good clean and polish as all marked. The bouncers DJ and Bar Staff could not have been better and helped make our night one to remember so a huge thanks to you all.

Popped in for a quick drink. I was very impressed that there were sanitiser on every table. However when visiting the gents there was an overpowering stench of stale urine. Staff were friendly, and never stopped cleaning. May go back but just go somewhere else to go the toilet.

I had not been in this pub for about 30 years so when visiting Whitley Bay I went in for old times sake. Sadly it is not to my liking now, it had been a good place to go in the past. Very loud music everywhere in the pub was really off putting, there was nowhere to get away from it. The general appearance is a little shoddy inside but they have invested in some nice tv sets, not that you can hear them. The beer was good value, about £3 so no complaints there but the bar staff, 2 women were chatty with the locals but I was not spoken to at all during my transaction, no smile or thank you. I think I would not go back in this pub but try my luck elsewhere next time, it was a midweek visit so not a party night, but the locals seemed to thrive on this place.

We went here last night (June 18th) to watch the England game whilst on a short stay in Whitley Bay and the first issue we had was the tables were so sticky and just not being wiped between customers - a guy at another table also mentioned to his mate about his phone sticking to the table.

Later on a group of 4 seemingly drunk and rowdy women were let in and shown to a table in the room we were sat at.

Earlier in the evening there had been a barmaid that was on to people not wearing masks but she must have ended her shift as these women roamed around the whole roomaskless and shouting, one was all over any bloke that would let her, they would try and maul the young bar guy despite he and other customers in that room challenging their lack of care over covid precautions.

The room descended into bedlam, furniture being moved about, people sitting at each others tables with these rowdy wen always at the centre of the action.

One of the women admitted another customer that she was anti vaccine too - terrific, so she is going all out to catch the virus and when she ends up down the testing centre the entire pub of customers last night and its staff will be getting pinged by track and trace to isolate!

This behaviour needed someone to step in, some blokes in the room stopped bothering wearing masks because they could see nothing was been done about the women flouting it.

Pubs have had a rough time of it during this pandemic but if what I saw last night was representative of how pubs fail to remotely cope with covid rule breakers then I can see why we ended up back in lockdown last year and thank my luckily stars we now have vaccines - just need to hope we don't have the track and trace after us.

Jumping the tram down from Newcastle Upon Tyne to Whitley Bay, my twin brother Stephen and I visited several pubs in this pretty seaside resort, The Victoria Pub was one of the best.
A traditional pub,the interior is superb, pubby decor and furnishings, tv's and big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its a good old fashioned pub .
We were here on a Wednesday afternoon, we were greeted with a smile by a very pleasant member of the bar team, we ordered a John Smiths bitter each, these were served in excellent condition, we settled down and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub.
I really enjoy a good pint of bitter, its a much underrated beer style, when served iced cold and in this good a condition its such a refreshing brew .
We really enjoyed our bitters in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting for a first time visit to The Victoria Pub we were totally impressed.
The Victoria Pub is easy to locate along Whitley Road.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Sunday, 9am till 11pm.
A wonderful pub,one I highly recommend you visit if you're in the area or planning to visit Whitley Bay.

Had a lovely night in here until the barmaid with the green hair took a sudden dislike to me. I ordered a drink with my partner and sang on the karaoke. Was having a fab night until all of a sudden the green haired girl declared I had too much to drink. I was in with a group of friends and after having a few drinks she suddenly changed her opinion towards me. I have worked in a bar previously and have never experienced such negative customer service. She was extremely rude and dismissive. Even the door staff said they couldn't understand why they had refused me. WILL NEVER GO AGAIN!

Myself and partner hopped on a bus one sunny afternoon and ended up in Whitley bay. We enjoyed a leisurely pub crawl and the Victoria was one of our stops. Cheap and cheerful with lovely staff. Great fun watching customers on the karaoke 🎤🖤

Food and drink average. Toilets all had seats hanging at an angle one had no seat at all. No soap in dispensers or at basins. Place was shabby. Would not recommend.
