Worth a visit
Jun 2021 • Family
Booked over the phone. Arrived early and they moved our session to an earlier slot. Very clean and well organised. Very capable, friendly staff. Stephen, Lauren & Claire very personable at front of house. Kids loved the waves, floats & slides. Cafe served proper coffee & reasonably priced snacks, sandwiches & cakes. Would definitely visit again if in the area. Highly recommend.

Waves no waves
Oct 2020 • Family
Arrived for our pre booked slot tonight at 17.50, new covid rules seem straight forward, new band system in place.
In pool for approx 50 minutes then they called us all out, end of session, the wave machine hadn't been on at all while we were there.
When talking to life guard about the duration of our visit and the lack of waves I was told, "I'll let them know".
Not sure as to how this would resolve anything, on leaving I spoke to the staff again near reception who were very apologetic but somewhat dismissive of my complaint, only able to apologize to me, rather than offer a complaint procedure/resolution.
The life guard then looked at the paperwork and said the wave machine was on at 17.50.
Bearing this in mind I would suggest not booking time slot with 50 mins past the hour or face the dissappointment of no waves at waves.
The wave machine being this places unique selling point, and then it not working, all adds up to a dissappointment.

Kids love it
Mar 2020 • Family
Waves is an awesome family swimming pool, we go often. There's plenty to do for kids with play areas, slides and the wave machine and they do floats and beachball play sessions regularly. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Our kids love the pool, the soft play area by the cafe and the toasted sandwiches afterwards. It overlooks the sea and is a stone's throw from the beach.

You can’t really expect much from local authority pools these days; budget cuts mean that they are working on limited money for refurbishments and upgrades. But my god, surely they can do better than this.
The place is simply unclean. The changing rooms, where three members of staff were just stood round talking for about twenty minutes as old uses plasters littered the shower floors and the changing cubicles were disgusting, are beyond dilapidated.
The pool is vile. The water looks murky, the floor stained with rusted elements in it, cramped and over crowded and not to mention freezing cold.
The staff look utterly sick of their lives, not a smile or a warm tone in the voice from any of them.
Still. It was under £14 for a family of four so what more can you expect.
I’ve never rushed home to get a shower faster than I have after being here this morning.

Day out
Aug 2019 • Family
Surprisingly full on a Sunday morning but great place for everyone to have a swim. The waves were supposed to be every half hour but were on the hour only.
Good value for our family of 5 and kids had a great time on the racing slides.
Worth a visit.

As u took my grandson and my neice to the counter to pay for there swimming ,they were excited !!! But after 10 mins of waiting there while 2 staff play in there computers ,they were bored !!
When one of them eventually looked up i paid and went swimming with the kids
My grandson is 4 ,and has floaties on ,my niece is 13 and an excellent swimmer .
However ,my grandson was playing and i heard a whistle ,and it looked like the guy was whistling at me ,but i did nothing wrong so i looked behind me ,bewildered ,and he whistled at me again ,and pointed at me !!! I shrugged saying what ,and he pointed at my grandson (who was at arms length) and said keep him with you !!!!!!!! Where the hell is the fun in that !!! Hes 4 !!! He wanted to splash about !!
I just hope concordia hurrys up and finishes its refurb, the staff there are absolutley amazing !!!

Really Dirty Requires Deep clean
May 2019 • Family
A family visit on Sunday weekend prior to spring bank holiday. A typical day with a good attendance of visitors. I’m immediately put off by lifeguard walking in outside shoes through a dirty changing area. Crisps, banana skin on floor of many cubicle. Once inside the pool I still felt a little grimey. Pool was ok and entertaining for 10 yr old. On return cubicles still dirty then to my disgust clumps of dust felll from the top of the cubicle into our hair and face as we quickly got dried. I had a look and the tops of the cubicle are clearly NEVER been cleaned EVER.
