Runamokka is a family friendly coffee shop in Whitley Bay. Why not come along and relax whilst the kids have fun in the soft play area. We have a food menu available and offer various snacks cakes and soft drinks. Looking to hold a birthday party or other special occasion? Look no further! Here at Runamokka we have our very own enclosed area with various packages available to suit all budgets. Exclusive hire also available at weekends. My 8 month old daughter and I love Run a Mokka. We go to the sing and sign class on a wed am. Shannon who takes the class is so enthusiastic and never forgets a child's name.

I love this place. I have been going since my baby was a few weeks old. The staff are great, the owner remembers the babies names, the toys are always clean, the place is always tidy, food and drink always available and the classes are great! Can't recommend it highly enough!!

my son loves it in here nice relaxed lovely staff. great partys are held and theres always things on for the children to do every week no matter the age of the child. would defo keep going back x

I had my daughter's 3rd birthday party here and I can't praise the staff enough, everything was perfect and she and all her friends loved it. The soft play area is quite small but fifteen 2-5 year olds fitted in no problem, the fact that it is so close to the dining area means that parents can have a coffee and a snack whilst keeping an eye on the children. The food for the party was perfect for the age group - sandwiches, fruit, veggie sticks, crisps and cupcakes. This was served in a separate room upstairs and then an even bigger room was opened up for a disco with party games. The staff were great with the kids and kept them all entertained and the party bags included Frozen theme gifts which I thought was a lovely extra touch. I would definitely recommend this place!

Haven't been to Runamokka for a wee while but thought I'd book for my sons birthday, as it's small and cosy enough for a group of 2 year olds. The price per head was the cheapest around, yet the children had plenty to eat and we had exclusive hire for 2hrs-on a day they'd usually be closed. Leanne provided everything, accommodated last minute requests without hesitation which saved a tonne of stress too. Her warm welcome and hospitality was second to none, and we wish her the very best in her new venture running Runamokka :)

We had a brilliant party for our two year old. It is the perfect venue for a toddler's birthday. Excellent value for money since the catering is spot on, the place is immaculate and the staff are really friendly and obliging. Would highly recommend for a party venue.

I often visit this lovely softplay with my daughter age 3, the staff are lovely and engage with the children. The drinks are lovely and there are some food options available. Would highly recommend!

My daughter comes here regularly for the soft play and mini movers. She loves it!! It has improved ten fold since it was taken over by Joanna. Would highly recommended!!

Visited with my 4 month old to use the sensory room. The first thing my husband and I both noticed when we walked in was the smell - it wasn't particularly inviting unfortunately. It was a foisty, stale smell - kind of took me back to when I was a student and lived in a flat with a bad damp problem. We had arrived a little early so had a drink and some food. The hot chocolate was lovely, food was okay. Bit disappointed with the baby area as none of the toys that required batteries seemed to have any in and the play mats looked like they needed a wash. The sensory room was good although again there were some toys that needed batteries so didn't work. The coloured bubble tube and the fibre optic lights were good though. I think £3.50 is a little bit pricey to be honest, especially as that is per child. Like I said in the title, I wish I could have given this place a better review because it's such a good idea and the member of staff we spoke to was really friendly. I think if more care was taken to make sure all the toys were working and clean it would make a big difference.

We held our daughter's 3rd birthday party today and it was amazing. Leanne was so helpful and friendly. Every aspect was perfect from the soft play at the start to the food and disco. Leanne said as parents we could relax because everything was taken care of and she was right! It was really nice to be able to enjoy it. The only thing we had to do is take the cake and party bags which was a pleasure. The disco was a big hit and pitched just right for 3 year olds. The lunch box was ideal. The price was good value. Our daughter said as we left, "that was brilliant." Highly recommended!
