Excellent find for Craft Ale Nerds.
The staff were really friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the ale’s were well kept and there was a great selection.
Loved this place, can’t wait to return.

My twin brother Stephen and I decided to jump the tram down from Newcastle Upon Tyne to Whitley Bay and take in the wonderful sites of this cute seaside resort, a great bar we visited was The Dog & Rabbit Micro Brew .
This is a very cool looking bar ,the interior is superb, pubby decor and furnishings, a cute looking serving bar, a light and airy interior and despite its relatively small size there's plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar, its a very impressive bar indeed.
We were here on a Wednesday afternoon, bar was busy with a great atmosphere, we ordered ipa's from Almasty Brewery, these were served in excellent condition, we just kicked back, chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular bar.
My ipa was really good, a crisp, well balanced ipa, hints of toffee and a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a slight bitter finish to it, a classic British ipa, it was just so good being in such a lovely bar enjoying a quality brew.
We really enjoyed our ipa's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting for a first time visit to The Dog & Rabbit Micro Brew we were more than impressed.
The Dog & Rabbit Micro Brew is easy to locate along Park View.
Opening hours are ;
Monday to Sunday, Midday till 10pm
A great bar ,most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

The Dog&Rabbit is a fantastic micro-brew pub in Whitley Bay that offers an excellent range of cask and craft beers.Located on Park View'this superb micro-brew pub has a superb well kept interior with many beer related items throughout the pubs interior and ample seating options.
We had just visited St Paul's Church Which is across the road and decided to go here for a few beers.A superb place with really friendly bar staff who made us so welcome when we went to this excellent micro-brew pub. When here we had a couple of beers from the Almasty brewery a fantastic local brewery whose beers were superb and for the beers we were having well priced.
The Dog&Rabbit is a fantastic micro-brew pub and well worth visiting and really easy to locate from Marden Road bus stop it's over the road.(This is my first review of the Dog&Rabbit micro-brew pub).
Opening Hours.
Monday-Sunday-12.00-22.00.

Was visiting with friends for a few days with my 2 dogs and found this awesome bar on the main shopping street in Whitley Bay. Great selection of ale including some very strong stouts and Trappist beers. Staff were very welcoming staff and the place is extremely dog friendly. My only problem was that they shut at 2200! What a shame.. Definitely be here again when I'm next in Whitley Bay...

What a great little bar, spotless clean, adhere to covid rules, great beer and staff was excellent and very friendly. I see the last few reviews were about the staff but not on my visit, the lad behind the bar was great

Not been for a while due to Covid. However the place still serves an excellent craft beer. IPA is my choice. We sat outside which unfortunately is not the sunny side of the street, but they cant change that. Would recommend it to others and visit again, however we are aiming to try and support many of the small brewers now in Whitley Bay

We’ve been going to the Dog & Rabbit since it first opened and last night (Saturday 29th May2021) was our first visit this year. The range of beers is always exceptional and the staff usually friendly but last night we were greeted by an angry older barmaid who completely ruined our visit by shouting aggressively at customers. She shouted at customers as if they were something she’d trodden in and every time she shouted the place went silent and the atmosphere was dreadful, we stayed for one drink and made a rapid exit.
We won’t be back until that dreadful woman has gone.

Great pub and fab selection of drinks, unfortunately it was ruined by the woman running the bar who was implementing the rules in a horribly aggressive manor, shouting on at customers and completely ruining the atmosphere. Would have stayed longer than our one drink if it wasn't for her and her rotten attitude. The other girl on the bar was lovely and friendly and hopefully we'll be back to experience a better evening in the future

For a long, long time, Whitley Bay had very few decent boozers to recommend to the beer lover. The last few years have seen a marked turnaround as an eclectic range of independent boozers have opened. Leading the pack has been The Dog and Rabbit - a cracking, traditional micro pub with great home brewed ales and a wide range of guests. You’re always assured of a quality pint and a warm welcome - and great home deliveries during lockdown. Long may it continue.
