Mythical sea god Manannan guides you through this interactive museum which focuses on the Isle of Man's rich Celtic, Viking and maritime past. Discover life sized reconstructions of Celtic roundhouses, join the crew of the Odin’s Raven on a Viking longship as it returns from the battle of Clontarf, or find out what life was life in a Viking longhouse. You’ll also hear about the magnificent stone crosses dotted around the Island’s landscape and find out where you can still see them. Explore 19th Century Peel with a walk around the quayside, complete with traditional sights and smells from the Manx kipper yard, and uncover the importance of the sea to the lives of the people on the Isle of Man. During your journey from past to present you’ll also come face to face with characters telling you stories and superstitions from the Island’s past. An attraction not to be missed!

First thing that draw my eye was the life like bronze statue outside & the life like figures inside. The size of the boat is amazing. This is truely a place of interest from anyone who loves educational history

Spent a super afternoon following the history of Mananan. Real looking manikins in depictions of island life from the Viking era up to near the modern age and lots of interesting information plus a souvenir shop & cafe on site. Well worth a family visit.

Friendly staff who are very helpful. A few of the audio features did not work, which detracted from the experience. I understand the place is about 20 years old, and some exhibits do look a bit tired. Overpriced, but a good experience

Very well thought out exhibition which told the story of the Isle of Man. Not a museum to be rushed around as the exhibits are really interesting and informative. I particulary liked the statues outside that were linked to the inside exhibition by a rope...More

Great sunday activity. Really enjoyed seeing the Toys from different era's. The kids were in disbelief of what we used to play with. Had a lovely coffee and toastie in the cafe after. Would recommend for a rainy day

Helpful welcoming staff. Amazing authentic museum with lots of interesting and interactive displays. Quiet time on Sunday from 10 to 11 on Sundays. Well done and definitely worth a look if you are in Peel. Not the usual run of the mill museum.
