That term previously seemed like an oxymoron to me (pot-bellied boozers watching sport on TV), but when young folk came in to this bar still dressed in their kits, it took on a new meaning. It has been designed to look like a traditional old English pub & has a friendly landlord. Included on tap, there were three English ales, so it would have been rude not to sample them all - which we did (at 4.1%, they weren't half bad - very smooth). Yes, I liked this place.

They told me my card hadn't been accepted then took cash from me. I checked and money had been taken from my account from my card. They are thieves.

We left a restaurant near the Thirsty Pigeon and asked for a a good local pub to have a glass of wine in before we headed back to our hotel. They suggested we went there, and we enjoyed a lovely hour or two listening to Dan Hamblett do an awesome acoustic set. Fabulous, welcoming, friendly atmosphere, and thanks Dan for singing and not minding us joining in. Great night! 👍
