On holiday and the cinema is showing the latest Indiana Jones movie. Ticket price good value. At the kiosk you can get bags of chocolate and popcorn. Clean toilets in the foyer. Seats quite comfy though leg room is a little sparse. But comfy for 2.5 hours. Good view of the screen from row E. Plenty of bins so not covered in litter, pleased there was an usher as it’s very dark and I didn’t know the layout. Parking nearby. Central Douglas not far from the promenade.

I never had a problem with this cinema over the years until some half-witted bean counter decided to charge cinema-goers to park cars in the Palace cinema car park. It's only £1 for the evening so it is not about the cost, but it's the hassle of having to find the right coin and then going back to the car sometimes in the rain with a ticket before returning to queue to collect cinema tickets.

Everyone arrives at the same time for a movie so there are inevitably queues for the parking ticket machine. To make it worse the machine was not working so well so there was an attendant overseeing it. I would guess that the investment in the parking equipment, keeping it updated and the wages of the parking wardens plus the loss of goodwill to the cinema far outweigh the pounds collected.

As far as I can see there is no longer any food on sale inside the cinema - no hot dogs just sweet popcorn that can litter the aisles.

The movies are great - I will still go, but I will bring my own food and park around the corner as a matter of principle.

We're just back from watching The Hobbit.
There are some films that have to be watched on the big screen but after being charged £17.00 to watch a 2D film at 3:50pm (should have started at 3:30 but Paddington Bear viewers made such a mess the Hobbit viewers were made to wait while staff cleaned up).
I'm seriously going to reconsider what films, if any I go and see at his cinema. I suppose the owner has to pay for the refurbishment so maybe that's why it's so expensive ????. I also think he's using his heating budget to pay for the refurb as well as it was freezing. Take a blanket and a flask of tea, you'll need both.
Living on 'The Rock', we only have a choice of two cinemas, unfortunately we aren't all millionaires so stop charging us as if we were.
Thank goodness my children are adults now and I don't have to pay for five of us as I used to. I feel so sorry for parents wanting to take their children to see a film, so, if it was me I'd wait till it came out on DVD £10:00, buy and make my own popcorn £3:00, 4 ltr of coke £4:00 and a family of 5 can save a fortune and snuggle up on the sofa and then get a pizza delivery at the end of the film. Dad will still have change in his pocket after all that and a new film to add to the family movie collection. You know I'm right !!

Paying for car park-machine doesn’t work.
Outdated facilities- no climate control, so hot inside and no ventilation.
Toilets disgusting.
Screen small and sound all from front.
Loud noises throughout coming from above-maybe people moving stuff?
Seats musty. No boosters for toddlers.
2 adults and 2 kids £35 !!!!
Stale popcorn.

I would like to say however that the lady on desk who sold us tickets was lovely and helpful.

This cinema is an embarrassment to the Isle of Man.

I haven’t used trip advisor in years.

Hope the management / owners read this.

As my local cinema, I visit this place a lot, I have seen it all, the staff have been rude, the prices are constantly through the roof, the seats smell, its never clean, what it needs is a good face lift.
My biggest dissapointment was when I went to see the last harry potter film with my family, which was a greatly anticipated visit, which was going well until the film had started...... my family and I had taken up an entire row all but three seats on the inside. we assumed that these were vacant as the film had started and there was no sign of anyone entering. 30 minutes into the film, the film attendant comes up to me and my family and asks us to get up and LET THE PEOPLE SIT DOWN. This caused us great distress, and the people around us, as we were missing one of the biggest blocbusters of the year because a group of people decided to rock up when they wanted.
The cinema should not have let them go into the film at such a late stage, half an hour into the film is only going to cause disruption.
This is one of the few unfortunate encounters I have had with this cinema, I rarely go now and just wait for things to come out on DVD or go to cinemas in the UK when I go to visit friends.

I arrived to watch legend with my girlfriend on Sunday night, the film was awesome no problems there. Now the large popcorn and large drink came to £9 how in actual fact can you charge prices like that. it's ridiculous especially when the popcorn wasn't even sweet, warm or crunchy it tasted stale like it had been sat there for hours. Now the large drink didn't even come with the right lid Infact they didn't have any lids for the container that my drink arrived in. I think personally I'll make my own popcorn and sell it at half the price outside and it'll be better quality than what I received. I am utterly disappointed with what I received. ( bring your own popcorn and drinks and save yourself 6 pounds)

We're from abroad, and we miss going to the movies so much. The Palace and its two screens is better than the cinema at the Villa, but it's still terrible. Poor movie selection, small seats, noisy teenagers, disgusting popcorn, small screen... I'd happily pay twice as much for a decent cinema.

On first appearance looks a mess but the palace cinema has a large car park considering a lot of uk cinemas don't have one.
Inside is beautifully decorated and staff are very friendly iv been many times and there is always a warm welcome.
The shop has 3 tills and a ticket desk, the shop has a lot of sweets and drinks to pick from and recently a few combo prices to save money.
Once you have your tickets and sweets you have no trouble finding your screen as there's only two both screens have had a much needed refurbish and there's always a member of staff to show you to your seat the floor is a bit creaky but once seated not really an issue however the door to the film I watched upstairs bangs throughout the film this needs to be sorted but other than those 2 things the palace cinema is a wonderful little cinema me and my family have and will continue to visit for many years to come.

Went to watch 3D film - glasses given to my wife didn't work...complained to someone who said he was in charge but got the got the answer..."nah mate..they always work...it's your word against mine"...guess that means he is right and I am wrong despite thre people trying the glasses during the film and all coming to same conclusion that they were not 3D.... to help the brain dead employee... its easy to remove one of the lenses and replace it with one from a different pair of glasses. The result is simply that one pair of glasses will have two left eye lenses and one pair will have two right eye lenses. Despite trying to argue that someone else at a 3D film will have the same problem when given one of these glasses the reply was - "it's impossible they always work... " Doh....!
