Nice but outdated

Nice experience, however the place is very outdated. During the movie the sound was far too loud, other than that everything was fine. The manager sorted our free tickets out (but clearly wasn’t pleased that we didn’t had it printed), over all it’s a cinema 😐

Embarrassing
Oct 2020 • Family
Paying for car park-machine doesn’t work.
Outdated facilities- no climate control, so hot inside and no ventilation.
Toilets disgusting.
Screen small and sound all from front.
Loud noises throughout coming from above-maybe people moving stuff?
Seats musty. No boosters for toddlers.
2 adults and 2 kids £35 !!!!
Stale popcorn.

I would like to say however that the lady on desk who sold us tickets was lovely and helpful.

This cinema is an embarrassment to the Isle of Man.

I haven’t used trip advisor in years.

Hope the management / owners read this.

Really cold inside and smelt of damp, needs renovating.
Screen and sound are good.
Expensive prices for what you get.

The cinema is a disgrace totally dated why on earth we put up with such a shabby place is a mystery its about time the island came into the 21st century and had a new cinema on the site and demolished this one along with the palace Hotel which again is an eyesore it looks disgusting and its like stepping back into the 1970s when you go in which is probably the last time anything was done. Get rid of both and put a new cinema complex there or at least some kind of entertainment as douglas is certainly lacking big time. But there never seems to be any money for any projects of this sort we just spend money on doing roads to accommodate the horse trams which by the way loses money whereas a new entertainment complex would certainly make money and at least give the majority of islanders some decent entertainment not watching outdated horse trams plod aimlessly up and down prom for the few visitors we have lets have something we could use all the time

Do not visit
May 2019 • Couples
Worst cinema we have ever been to. Children running chaos in the cinema and staff failure to control shouting, throwing of food and kicking of chairs. People walked out the screening throughout due to the staff not intervening and controlling the situation. Seats were dirty, wallpaper peeling off the walls, toilets soaked with toilet roll all over the floor. Doors banged loudly as each person left. Do not recommend anyone visits this cinema.

Palace Cinema
May 2019 • Solo
I remember when the two screen Palace cinema was new in the late 1980s. I went to watch Back to the Future II.

Before then I used to go to the two cinemas in Strand Street, there was one in Victoria Street as well as one attached to the Crescent arcade. All gone now as well the one in Summerland.

Unfortunately whereas multiplexes have cropped up in the mainland since the 1990s, cinemas in the Isle of Man have been in standstill. The Palace Cinema looks a little old hat even a tad grotty.

Needs a revamp

Sound down too low do all you can hear is the rustling of sweet wrappers. Very outdated. have to queue for tickets in the same queue as the popcorn even though they are booked online so can be a lengthy wait. Poor experience compared to uk cinemas
