Townscape views of the tourist town of Douglas from Douglas Head with vast views of Douglas Promenade & Douglas Beach. From here you can see some of Douglas towns landmarks including the Tower of Refuge, the Ferry Terminal, the Villgaiety Theatre, Manx Museum, the Manx Electric Railway, Skandia House and many other beautiful buildings along the shore. Nice thing to do when you have some free time in the morning or evening.

The road up to Douglas Head is wide and very popular, both with Island residents and with visitors from across the world.
When you drive (or walk) to the top it is clear why so many people make this trip on a regular basis. The view is magnificent and reveals the panorama stretching from Douglas Head to Onchan Head beyond the busy harbour.

Nice couple of hours meandering around the head itself and the extensive number of paths and tracks surrounding it. Many tributes, memorials and things to see, including a very large poppy sprawling across the hillside and overlooking the harbour. Plenty of places to sit and take a rest and just watch the world go by.

If you can make it to Doulas head, the views on a good day are good. Nearby is the camera obscura, but check the opening times.

I wandered up here and it was a good day to do so and well worth the wandering. You can carry on round to Bradden if you've got the energy as well.

Fantastic views on a clear day. If you are in the area and need to kill some time worth a visit. There is a museum close by you can add on also. Provides the history of isle of man.

Found I was 40 miles from home but had to drive and travel by boat and train to get there. Worth the effort though. Nice tea room.

We walked from the town centre, past the lifeboat house, the little bay of Port Skillion and the lighthouse then up to Douglas Head. An energetic walk but full of interest and Douglas Head itself was well worth it - as everyone says the views are fantastic. We walked back along the road and down steps into town. (This walk is part of the long "Douglas Trail" - booklet available from Welcome Centre.)

I was expecting a pleasant view but I wasn't expecting such a well laid out area with barbecues, seats, grass, etc. What a lovely area. The info board showing what was visible was excellent.
