lovely trip to the Isle of Man
Oct 2021
Took the ferry from Heysham to Douglas. The crossing was quite rough but we managed fine.
On the return we had an evening crossing and so booked a cabin which was well worth the money with drinks and snacks provided.

Final leg home. Long journey. Drive Barcelona to Bilbao, ferry Bilbao to Portsmouth, drive Portsmouth to Heysham. Loading was slow. I had booked space near lift, and asked to be met at lift with cabin key as I can’t walk to the check in desk and back to lift to cabins. No one turned up with key.

Cabin was clean and warm. Grabbed 4 hours sleep. Home 06.15.

Go Premium!
Oct 2021
Came home on the early boat to Heysham this morning ( sat ).
The service in the Premium lounge was superb.
The steward on duty never stopped working and offered a food menu ( unlike other trips ) and this ensured we had a great breakfast.
Having passed through the main lounge area on the way to the toilets I saw the chaos there, with children running about and a lot of noise. This alone confirmed that the cost of the premium lounge is well worth it.

First trip from Heysham to Douglas on my own with Stanley (cockapoo)
I was really apprehensive as I was unsure how Stanley would behave. I booked a pet cabin and the journey was great, he was very relaxed and we had a couple of toilet breaks on deck
Would definitely recommend a cabin if available definitely worth the extra money

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the isle of man 🇮🇲 the staff very friendly the boat spacious and very clean. We took our own food but was amazed at the hot food on offer it looked really lovely with an amazing beef pie so we have decided on our next trip we will eat the lovely food on offer and the prices looked very reasonable too. The service on departure was swift and efficient.

Our trip from Heysham was fine..... but !!!1
Sep 2021
We took the ferry from Heysham to Douglas and return when, luckily, the weather was great. The ship is old but well-maintained and has all the facilities one would want for the nearly 4 hour crossing. We were on a Rail Tour and this was the choice of travel but I can't help thinking if the more modern seacat from Liverpool or better still the flight to Ronaldsway Airport would be the best option. 4 hours rocking and rolling in the Irish Sea is no way to start or finish a holiday.

Sadly no choice
Sep 2021
Boat was very full. No enforcement of mask wearing with people walking around the vessel, only 1 announcement by crew re mask wearing, crew coughing working in the food serving area, people coughing everywhere, absolutely irresponsible. You have to wear masks on aircraft, no wonder cases going through the roof. And rip off prices, almost 200 for 1 crossing

rules are no good if you don't follow through.
Sep 2021
I went to IoM to visit family, Heysham to Douglas, and return on Manannan to Liverpool. The mask - wearing rules on board appear to be rather haphazard (i.e. required to wear one when walking around on board, but not when you're sitting down). So perhaps we should be grateful that there doesn't seem to be anyone willing to enforce those rules, making it a free-for-all in all areas on board?

Douglas to Heysham 56.4NM each way 112.8NM total
Portsmouth to Santander 617NM each way 1234NM Total

10x distance

Cost (Mid June 2022 for 1 week with a 6.5m Campervan 1 adult.

Douglas to Heysham £305
Portsmouth to Santander £993

Cost per NM

IOMSPC £2.70
Brittany Ferries £0.80

Check other ferry prices, you can travel from Liverpool to Dublin PAST the IOM for half the price they charge for half the distance.

Absolute joke, and they go as slow as possible to try and force everyone to buy their overpriced tat on board.

Honesty, kindness and great grub
Aug 2021 • Family
When I phoned on a Sunday to report a lost item I was helped by a very kind lady on the reservations desk who liaised with lost property. Firstly I thank the Angel who handed my purse of meditation beads in , rather than keeping them. For themselves. They are so precious to me. You have done a huge kindness and I wish abundant blessings on you. Secondly to my kind lady who has resolved with her supervisor that the beads shall be posted to me back here in England. Fabulous customer service. Truly a feel good feeling about the wonderful honest and helpful SteamPacket company. I am so grateful and can’t wait to be reunited with my beads.
Plus the baps stuffed full of bacon or sausage are the best we have ever had. Generous portions and excellent value for money. Will consider booking again sooner rather than later for the whole SeaCat experience. Thank you
