POOR customer service

Good Evening!! Last night our golf society had rented the golf simulator room for the evening. 12 keen golfers very much looking forward to this for a while. Firstly I'd like to say the whole set up was absolutely fantastic. There is a private bar for the room also, so we where under the impression when booking that there would be staff down there to serve our party. NOT ONE member of staff the whole evening was down there, I'm not sure if that's the normal service or not but you would expect someone to be looking after a party when booking this room out and willing to spend(and we did) a lot of money. Having to go up and down to get drink orders which took a ridiculous amount of time was a bit of a dampner on the evening. Secondly, a gentleman came down to take our food orders explaining that half 6 was the cut off time and abruptly asking us to order with him straight away.(must have been in a rush to get home) therefore he has rushed writing the orders down and forgot one of the goujon meals. Said gentleman came down the stairs and was almost arguing with us that nobody had ordered a goujon meal when we clearly did. He then shook his head and sighed and stormed off. Later bringing the food down, slamming the cutlery down on the table as if it was our fault... absolutely disgusting attitude. Where is the customer service?! Thirdly, we then proceeded to go upstairs to clear our bar bill and then continue to have Good Evening!! Thirdly, we then proceeded to go upstairs to clear our bar bill and then continue to have more drinks in the clubhouse. We were told by a member of staff they would not be serving us drink. Obviously confused, as we have nearly spent £1000 all in at this stage. We made the decision to order taxis and leave straight away, whereas we would've stayed for the remainder of the night if it hadn't been of bad service from the staff. Extremely dissapointed with the service all night especially from such a prestigious and well known club as Holywood. more drinks in the clubhouse. Congratulations to all the staff & management in the club for a well organised, socially distanced environment. Staff were totally respectful of clientele & each other. Provided a very relaxed atmosphere under the current situation.
Meal was excellent, steaks & champ.... just perfect! Well done all concerned. Have rebooked for next week!

Decent meal

Was here for a birthday party. The staff coped very well given the size of the group and the food was nicely cooked. Decent sized steaks and overall pretty good value for money.

I’m glad to post that the new restaurant has kept up the standards of the previous one. Attentive and friendly staff, warm ambience, nice decor and fab views. The food style is traditional golf club fare but done well with generous portion sizes. Only small quibble is that the gravy needs to be improved. I’ll be back.

Beautiful Views, Good Challenge & Great Staff!
Aug 2017 • Friends
Only a 15 minute drive from downtown Belfast. The staff was very helpful in answering questions posed via email prior to booking all the way through our post-play lunch. They saw us admiring Rory's trophies and asked if we wanted to take photos while holding them - heck yeah! The course was very playable for those of us that don't play all that often, yet the angled lies provided a challenge for the more advanced players. Everyone we talked with was tremendously friendly. Hope to play again some day.

One of our highlights of our cruise!
May 2017 • Friends
We stopped in Belfast while on a cruise ship. Took about a 10 to 15 minute cab ride to the course. We were welcomed to the course by the head of the pro shop who showed up about the same time we did. Our tee time was in an hour and he asked if you are ready to go you are welcome to go. We had brought our own gloves, balls and tees so off we went with the rented clubs and pull carts. We met several players while on the course and they were very friendly and welcoming. Challenging course I am 65 years old and was able to walk the course even though it took my breath away once in awhile (hills & views). We had a great time during the 19th round with some members who really enjoyed talking to some bona fide tourists. Had a fantastic time. Very reasonable to play this course. If you are cruising and a golfer do not miss this gem of a course. Thank you Holywood!

Amazing views / Great golf

First time visiting Ireland-via Princess Cruises. Great hospitality from the Staff and Club members. Welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. Cool golf course - Rory MCILROY'S home course. Rolling hills, with beautiful views. Take your camera. Met two of the local gents (John and Bill) and they showed us the very impressive trophy room dedicated to Rory Mcilroy. The "19th Hole" was superb, also. Afterwards, the gents learned we were calling a Cab for a ride back to the Cruise Ship and they insisted on taking us back. The hospitality was off the charts! Thanks for the great golfing and friendship.

Great stop on on day tour in Northern Ireland

Great stop on our tour. Home course of Rory Mcilory. Lots of his trophies and pictures of him learning to play. Great stop for Golf fans. Sorry I wasn't able to play.

Maybe next time.
