Went to the transport museum having done the folk part a few years ago. A well laid out facility with trains, trams, cars, carts and planes. The museum is split into 2 section with there being a couple of hundred yard walk between them. Well laid out with the ability to get inside some but not all of the trains.... More

Took the kids to the Ulster Folk and Transport museum for a visit. Spent 5 hours walking around the place. In the old cottages, houses, police station, banks, churches and shops. In the town area then walked around the rural setting of the farms. The smell of peat burning was amazing. Kids got to see the piglets that had been... More

This was a return visit to the Folk Museum for me after 13years and what a surprise! It had grown but in a wonderful way. I took a close friend who had been to Belfast previously but only on business. We were amazed and really should have allowed for a longer visit especially if you want to take in the... More

We visited recently and had an excellent time. The weather wasn't kind, but it didn't take away from how good the museum is. Staff are great and help recreate the atmosphere in the folk museum. The transport museum has plenty to look at too.

This museum is well worth a visit, a perfect family day out. The Transport Museum is very modern and well laid out with many great and interesting exhibits. The folk museum is spread over quite a large area with many buildings from the past all beautifully presented and very authentic. It's a great day out for all ages, we spent... More

Rainy days are frequent in NI so the transport museum is definitely one to keep on the todo list when you need something to entertain the kids indoors that won't break the bank. The museum has a huge collection of old trains (many of which you can climb aboard) then a basic Titanic shipping exhibit leading into another vast room... More

Visited both of the museums this week and once again had a fantastic day out. It's really worthwhile getting the ticket for both parks as its only a few pound more and you can make a full day out. We had our 5 year old and 21month old with us and there was plenty for both of them to enjoy.... More

So much to see and do, houses to explore, animals to feed, transport of yester year to clamber over, history to acquaint yourself with, the dual museum is s good way to spend a day. Set in beautiful grounds, let your kids tire themselves out running from interactive exhibit to house whilst you get to know Ulster through the ages

We went on a wet day. It would of course be wonderful on a dry day but it was a good outing for a changeable day. There is a village and a rural area with cottages and farms all set in late 19 century. Talk to the staff who are in some of the houses. They are fascinating and tell... More
