- helen hBristol, United Kingdom326 contributionsLovely unspoilt placeGreat little beach. Kids play equipment and big grassy area. Loved the lake with the swan and bumper boats. Nice ( steep ) walk into Paignton - beautiful clifftop views.Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 8, 2024
- TomYorkshire, United Kingdom11 contributionsFabulous area .What an amazing area and lovely beach. No dogs allowed on the beach from May to end September ! We saw the tractor cleaning the beach every morning and the street cleaners were there too . Paignton really has improved recently. Our favourite holiday place. We will be back next year.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 14, 2024
- Steve WBlackburn, United Kingdom259 contributionsBeautiful beach and parkGoodrington Sands is a few minutes walk from Paignton. Although its easier to walk to the back of the park and follow the railway to and from Paignton - saves the big hill, especially with a pram and small child. The park is such a nice area and there is plenty of room to play games or have a picnic. The water rides are worth having a go on too. The beach is a very long area which is massive at low tide. Well worth a day out.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 17, 2024
- It’s the Pizzaman!Andover, United Kingdom60 contributionsTrip down memory lane, revisiting childhood memories.Revisited this place after 40 years, to relive some childhood memories of family holidays in Paignton Goodrington and Torquay and Torbay, spent time on the bumper boats, all very clean, £5 for 10 minutes good value, the crazy golf was very busy enjoyed the cold beer in the caféand I wonder along the beach again highly recommended if you’re in the area. Really hasn’t changed! Love itVisited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 22, 2024
- LablynnRayleigh, United Kingdom142 contributionsBeach dayThis place was recommended by a local from Brixham from which we were staying. I asked for somewhere which I could take dogs and children. We found it easier enough there is 3 car parks to use The photos on this site are accurate the boating lake, the beaches. I especially liked the dog friendly beach which we could sit with the grandchildren whilst they played on the sand, I found it clean and tidy. We used the boating lake and the playground, we didn’t buy food but did have coffee/ drinks. Definitely recommend for dogs and children as sometimes it’s a struggle to find somewhere especially dogs on beaches in the summer Thank you Goodrington SandsVisited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 23, 2024

It is OK for younger people wanting waterworks and a stroll for pensioners otherwise there is 25min walk to Paignton. The main road was the quickest way. Paignton I personally disliked no disabled loos without paying forget the radar key

It was ok. There was a lovely park, but if you’re at the seaside you want a decent beach I would have thought. The area seemed a bit rundown, with minimal facilities. Naturally, the toilets were prioritised in terms of modernity, but that’s so that they can charge you a fortune, although that tends to be the norm in a modern UK where the rip-off is king - top tip: go behind a bush. There is a water park there, which I didn’t visit. It was the standard mass of curved plastic that you get with this sort of thing. The sea was in while we were there so there was no beach on the North Beach, where dogs are allowed (we have a dog), so be aware that this may be the case if you take your dog. In short: it was ok, but not a lot there, except for the waterpark, which might be brilliant. It’s probably reviewed here somewhere if you fancy it.

Goodrington Sands is a clean, wide and safe beach for families.
Build sandcastles, go crabbing, have a safe swim on a very gently sloping beach into the sea, which make it safe for children.
Beach cafes offering honest food and drinks at a reasonable price with friendly staff.
We (four adults and three childen) spent all day here and we loved it.
Parking is close to the beach

Lovely beach and people were very good at social distancing.
Poor toilet facilities. One toilet for everyone, 30pence to use the toilet and with the amount of people that were on the beach and likely to use it, I don't see how this could be kept clean. No way I would let my 5 year old grandson go in there, so our visit to the beach was cut short when he needed the toilet and we had to return to our holiday accommodation for him to go.

I've been coming here for years when I visit Devon & the crazy golf inflatable slides are always enjoyable. The Brewers Fayre Inn On The Quay is in a lovely place with a great view I didn't eat here this time but on previous times I have it's hit & miss. We enjoyed the pedalo swans today but the main reason for this review is the motor boats. I went to go on them with my 11 yr old daughter I know she'd end up going past the line in to the other lake or wouldn't exactly be able to use the engine on the motor boat. The guy who was running it really needs to do a course on Customer Service & Communication. Rules are rules & that's fine but raising his voice & saying sternly my daughter needs her own boat & how tall she is there is a certain way you do it I've worked in Customer Service & I work on the public sector & would never speak to someone like he did to us. The lady who runs the Pedalo Swans was very friendly & excellent service Inflatable Slides Crazy Golf very good too.

The besty thing about this beach for me is the width of it. I like watersports and this beach can get very crowded in the summer but there is pletny of space to paddleboard and swim. The water can get a little busy in the shallows with paddlers but I usually find plently of space a little furhter out. You can follow the cliffs to other quiet beaches.
There is a cold shower for rinsing off and neraby food and parking. Unfortunately there are no 'public' toilets as the council pay a private company to run them and charge a fee for their use, even for local residents. But that's true across Torbay now.

Visited on Easter Sunday, we explored the Park area with the swan boats, play area, walk along near the beach huts and a play on the beach. A lovely few hours.
Parking was at the pay and display, about £4.00 for 3 hours.
The swans were £6 for a 20/30 min go and we paid in cash - unsure if they take card.
The park was enough for 15 minutes play for our 8 and 4 year old.
The beach, was busy with dogs. As a non dog family, I did feel we were the odd ones out! As far as I saw, the dogs and owners were respectable and didn't leave any mess behind. I did feel a bit overwhelmed by them though and would prefer to return to the beach when it is not dog season.
The sands were down a ramp near the pub and premier inn or steps down.
The sand was red (iron) and quite hard rather than soft for sandcastles, I did notice later that the sand in front of the train track near to the Quaywest and Pub was much softer.
It was a nice beach, not too stony or rocky and my boys ran into the water for a little paddle. There were lots of rocks to explore for rockpools when the tide went out and a beach hut to buy snacks and bits and bobs nearby.

We came out of season because dogs are allowed on this lovely beach from 1/10. The last time I was here was with my parents in the 1960s. Still has trains but they no longer stop at the station, and a large water park has been built, but otherwise little has changed and there are car parks and toilets at each end. Great beach, excellent views out to sea and great place for families. There is also a nearby park with lake etc. Beach activities and cafes will be open in high season but we still managed to find coffee places open. You can rent a beach hut here, participate in outdoor activities etc in the summer. There are coastal walks all year round

Absolutely mayhem here. Kid’s flocking in numbers trying to scream louder than the seagulls. But on more serious note… lovely area for young families. My daughter felt too grown up for peddlers boats and other rides, she is 11
Nice beach not far from car park to walk to. We walked down as far as this seaside cafe/chipshop/bar. But didn’t like the looks of it unfortunately. So we never ordered anything, bare in mind we were absolutely starving too.
We ended up driving to Paignton instead, which was far more a better place and ate @ a nice fish & chipshop too

would you be able to bake a birthday cake, if I were to bring my husband for lunch on his birthday (not till October) ?

I think this question was supposed to be aimed at the Brewers Fayre at Goodrington Sands. There is a review for this restaurant and would probably have a contact number. Easy mistake to make.
