The award winning Dartmouth Steam Railway & River Boat Company!...Dartmouth Steam Railway steam trains travel seven miles along the most spectacular South Devon coast down into the Dart Valley and to the village of Kingswear which sits proudly opposite the Port of Dartmouth. Dartmouth River Boats operate on the stunning river Dart offering daily services to the historic town of Totnes and to the picturesque village of Dittisham. Harbour Cruises operate daily from Dartmouth. There are also wonderful adventures by sea from Torquay, Brixham & Salcombe to enjoy. We are unique in offering combined steam railway, bus and boat excursions for days out in Devon. The Round Robin is an award-winning full day out - a steam train journey, ferry crossing, river cruise and bus ride - a great full day out!In addition, we operate the last remaining coal fired paddle steamer in the UK - the beautiful 'Kingswear Castle'.Plus lots of other fantastic excursions and combinations!

Buy a combined excursion ticket - we did Paignton to Kingswear both ways by steam train, crossed over on the ferry across the river Dart and then an hours river cruise with good commentary. The sun shone - we had plenty of time to stop...More

It was a hot summers day and we thought that an hours cruise would cool us down. It was well worth the money. The commentary was very amusing. It was a nice way to see the scenery.

We started our journey from Paignton. It was good that we pre-bought out tickets the day before. Aim to get there early before the coach tours arrive! There are some unique souvenirs and a penny machine. But once the coaches arrived, we couldn't walk through...More

We are coming over from Australia in September and will be starting our Round Robin trip from Paignton. I am just wondering whether to catch the 10.30 or 12.15 train from Paignton to Kingswear/Dartmouth. My question please to staff and visitors is whether you think we would get better sightseeing value by spending the extra time in Paignton by catching the 12.15 or catch the earlier 10.30 to give us more time in Dartmouth? Thanks in advance

You may find that the tides govern your choice of train. We caught the 10.30 train to Kingswear, had a couple of hours in Dartmouth to have lunch before boarding the boat to Totnes. Occasionally there is only one sailing a... More

The staff seem fairly switched on and I am sure will find the email acceptable, just be careful though as they tore a chunk out of my ticket when I embarked 😊
