Paignton Zoo Environmental Park is a conservation and education charity located in South Devon. With around two thousand animals, we have more species than anyone else in the South West. These include: crocodiles, snakes, lions, tigers, giraffes, elephant, rhinos, lemurs, meerkats, orang utans...The list is endless! We also have indoor play areas, the Jungle Express train and a lakeside restaurant. If you wish, we also offer special feeding experiences with certain animals, e.g. meerkats, giraffes, giant tortoises, etc. Paignton Zoo is a member of the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

A zoo with a difference. Messy, poor signage, everything all over the place, ie:Owls in more than one spot, an awful lot of gardening needs to be done here as very poor quality. Animals/exhibits need to be sited near to its species. Glass on exhibits needs a good clean as it is very difficult to see what is behind it.... More

Hi Dennis, So sorry to hear that your visit to Paignton Zoo was not a favourable one, however thank you very much for your feedback which is valued. We are currently looking at the signage, and ways to improve it, so this something we are currently addressing. The layout of the animal enclosures is always carefully planned, and it is... More

I have been to this zoo a number of times as a child and have since returned taking my own daughter. Whenever I holiday in Devon I will continue to visit this zoo. We spent the whole day there as there is plenty to see and plenty of play spaces for children. Again the zoo was very clean and tidy... More

We always visit zoos and animal parks when we are away and this one definitely did not disappoint. It is quite a large zoo so comfy shoes are a must but there is so much to see you just don't realise how quick the time goes. There are plenty of animals to see with the usual feeding times of certain... More

My best part of the visit was the gorilla posing for me . The lions seemed preoccupied and stayed the other end so I couldn't get photos. The tigers paced slowly but trying to have their back to me the whole time. So my best pics were of the gorilla . These are other shots as I have entered into photo... More

We spent most of the day here and that was without visiting any of the talks. We paid for two joint saver tickets which means we can also get into the Living Coasts. For adults its £24.20, a child £16.50 and a senior citizen £19.40. They also do a family ticket for £71.00 though for entry into Paignton Zoo only... More

We had a great day out at the Zoo. We went in February due to the weather we didn't see some animals and it would have been good if we were let know before entry. But we had a good day and will definitely return!

Visited the zoo as was staying in Paignton and was recommended by my parents. Was a great day out, lots to see and walk around. Pleasantly surprised by how much there was to do! Definitely recommend!

We popped in here as an unexpected trip as we saw the sign on our way back from Brixham. We arrived around 2pm so fairly late in the day but that left us 4 hours before the park shut so we felt that was ample time. We found the park to be very poorly signposted, pathway junctions with no sign... More

My husband and I took our 14 month old daughter to the zoo today. Such a great day out. Lovely staff, amazing animals and everything clean and tidy. The only criticism I would have is that the signposts pointing to different areas could be clearer as we got lost a few times. A tiny thing and certainly nothing to really... More

I personally think this is the best zoo around, I have been to longleat, however this is a lot better, the reason I say this is because there is such a big range of animals and is a very big zoo, definitely worth the money.
