The Palace Theatre is a true community theatre for the English Riviera, set in the heart of Paignton , and is the oldest working theatre in Torbay, constructed back in 1890. It is owned and run by Torbay Council. The theatre has a seating capacity of 380. It has undergone a major refurbishment and it looks fantastic. Tickets for the Palace Theatre can be purchased in person from the Palace Theatre, or by phoning the Box office on: 01803 665800, or tickets can be purchased by going to any local Tourist Information Centre.

My daughter chose this show to watch and when it started my heart sank as there was one bad joke after another - but how wrong I was, as soon as Dorothy got into Oz the show really picked up. Toto's dance in the wild forest was legendary and, for me, the Wicked Witch stole the show with the Cowardly... More

We went to see this show last night, it was fantastic. I would highly recommend this show. The tickets are very cheap, and the cast were out of this world.

My family had a lovely evening here watching Murder On The Nile. The acting was great and very well done, well worth the money. The Theatre itself is very nice and well positioned in Paignton with plenty of parking and disabled spaces. My only criticism is that I couldn't sit in my seat in Row E. The space between the... This show is amazing. A special school holiday treat not to be missed. This show is on every Thursday throughout August. Very professional actors, scenery, music, all brilliant. The venue is perfect. Staff, bar area, toilets all first class. Easy accessibility for wheelchairs. This theatre is well known for putting on a good variety of shows so worth keep their... More

During our stay in Torquay me and my mum went to watch a play called The Empty Stage in the Palace Theatre Paignton . What a brilliant play and the actors were really good. It's a shame there were only about 60 people there because it really was a good show. The theatre was also lovely with reasonably priced tickets... More

We visit this theatre most years and see the Bijou Theatre production of an Agatha Christie. Always a good night out in an intimate and comfortable theatre. 'Murder on the Nile' was well up to standard!

Been a couple of times. Went last week to see death On the Nile , which was superb!!! It's a good sized theatre and very comfortable with the seating staggered well so you don't have to worry about having a tall person in front of you. Loads of parking aswell nearby.

While on holiday in the area went along to see Murder on the Nile which was on. Excellent show and great value for money at £12.50 per ticket. This is the third time we have been to a show while on holiday to the area in recent years and would throughly recommend to anyone thinking of visiting. We will definitely... More

We have just returned from this great little theatre after seeing the excellent Bijou production of the Agatha Christie play Murder on the Nile. Firstly the theatre staff are helpful and friendly, we had no problems reserving seats over the telephone. The bar was well stocked with a few snacks if you are feeling peckish. The play had the usual... More

This theatre was overhauled a few years ago, and now has less character. The entrance is rather empty and unwelcoming, with the box office tucked away, behind security glass. Very impersonal. Staff are friendly though. The bar is small and intimate but service is very slow.

Thanks for your comments DebbieTheCat3, Our refurbishment was completed back in 2007 the planning was to keep as much of the main historical features as possible whilst bringing the building into the "modern age". As a venue we strive to ensure our customers have the best possible experience and I will be feeding this back to our staff to see... More
