Deeply poignant, with the close proximity of the actors intensifying the emotional impact of the experience. Wonderfully raw and real performances. No fuss, fanfare or frills. The truth of this simple yet powerful production comes from a raging, broken heart and my God it tore out my own...

Family of 4 (boys of 15 & 12) found this very powerful and moving. Beautifully portrayed by the 3 actors who brought it all to life during our visit. We were in a group of 8. Actors interacted directly with us and engaged us. Prepare to find yourself in tears but glad you went; and grateful, in so many ways.

Theatre bright atmosphere and nice café - very good value. We went to see "1916 - No turning back" highly recommend this - amazing acting and really recreates the experience of the young soldiers and the effect of the Somme on their lives and families. Came out feeling we had truly experienced and been part of the horror of the... More

What an absolutely fantastic and extremely moving performance. This totally transports you back to 1916 . leading from the joy and bravado of "joining Up" to the horror of war and its aftermath. I can honesty say as a 50 year old this was the best and most poignant performance I have ever seen. the actors were fantastic and portrayed... More

There are very few films to see and they are mostly kid films. No film over 12. There was a big air for the food and everything was a rip off. You either got something tiny or something that tasted horrible. There are 2 small screenings which give you barely no leg room and no where to put your arms... More

Poignant and evocative experience, rather than passively sitting back, follow the Pals battalion through the bloodiest battle of WW1. Wish the politicians would go and visit this as they would think twice before sending our people into situations.

I went to the no turning back experience with my 8 year old and 11 year old. It was fantastic, we were emerged in the story. My 8 year old did find it a little scary in places but he said he was pleased he went in. It was a very powerful way to learn about our history, I'm not... More

Moving , elegiac & evocative. Not sure what to expect when I booked however this production is probably the most original I have seen ; 40 minutes which really made one think about the Battle Of The Somme & the impact the 1st World war had on local communities. Highly recommended. Nice coffee in the cafe.
