A bustly little market with loads of history. There isn't much you can't get here...from fruit and veg to Moroccan lamps and just about everything in between! If you are in Durham then you must visit.

The building is interesting, having been built in the 1850s, however the stalls were basically full of tat. It is a shame that it does not have more character. We did not stay long. Visit to see the building but do not stay long

There is a mish mash of shops in the market hall. They range from a butcher shop, a seafood shop, a candlestick shop, a bakery, a hardware store and more. The people here are as usual very friendly and lovely.

Not somewhere to rush to visit but probably worth a wander to buy something you didn't know you needed.Very old fashioned, typical.old market hall. Some food but mainly odds and bobs, gifts, crafts, pet shop etc. There a balcony cafe too which is ok for a cuppa.

A fascinating market with many shops, full of interesting goods that you may not find anywhere else. If your looking for the unusual it could be here, plus you have the butcher baker candlestick maker. Much cleaner in the market, the square outside is a litter strewn disgrace, more council cuts I presume.

We went in here when looking for a wrist brace - and found it, to our amazement and it was much cheaper than in Boots Chemists! It seems they have everything in stock in this indoor market. We browsed for ages and were very impressed by the range of things on sale.

Went to the indoor Market recently and found an amazing shop called Bear Bottoms (toy shop) It sold some fantastic, rare toys and collectibles. There are lots of different stalls in there, appealing to all ages. Offers food stalls as well as bric -a - brak.

There are two entrances to the Market Hall off the Market Place which are quite close to each other. It feels like you are entering a different world in the Market Hall. There is an old fashioned look to the place yet many of the shops are selling the latest goods while others sell things that do look to come... More
