We've lived in Durham for most of our lives, yet only just got around to seeing Crook Hall gardens. We loved its beautiful gardens, all individual and so peaceful and secluded. We will definitely have to return for afternoon tea in the garden, though we did have a cuppa in the courtyard which was lovely. We didn't have time to... More

Crook Hall is a nice and peacefull building near to the centre of Durham. You can see the different stages in the Hall development. It offers enoyable walks within the various gardens and you can relax next to the small pond. At certain time they seem to hold events. Its worth a visit

A friend and I went to visit after it was recommended. We were very pleasantly surprised at how much there was to see. Gardens are set out with individual themes and colours. It was a beautiful sunny day and a pleasure to walk around each garden, including the maze which I am pleased to say we managed to find our... More

Was brought here for an early birthday treat for afternoon tea and it was stunning! The tea was beautiful and the gardens are an absolute delight. We were lucky enough to have a sunny afternoon but to be honest it wouldn't matter as the gardens and hall would shine in any weather. First of many visits I am sure.

The many reviews on here about how lovely it is can only be endorsed by me-really beautiful. I want to comment about the MAN tea. Many places do high tea, cream tea and afternoon tea but never before have I encountered the Man Tea. It's got pork pie, scotch eggs, pickles, chutneys and even a Yorkie Bar. It isn't cheap... More

We went to this venue for a wedding, the gardens are impressive and the building is full of history. Everything was lovely except for the lack of toilet facilities(3 to be exact) and the bar a bit small, although they managed to keep the beers cold.

Although I have stayed in Durham several times I had never visited Crook Hall and gardens until now. It is just a short and pleasant walk from the city centre along the river. The garden is compact and absolutely delightful made up of several small gardens. The atmosphere was relaxed and intimate. It's purpose to give simple pleasure. I particularly... More

Visited with my children and mum. Very nice coffee shop, staff very welcoming and provided children with bricks to play with, which was nice touch. Sat outside, very pleasant. Food and drinks lovely, home made and worth the money. Will definitely recommend and will be back
