It's a nice garden to walk around. I was there in October. I presume it is much nicer in summer. I wish we had time to stay for a cup of tea/coffee. They seemed to have a nice cafe inside the garden.More

Hello, I am glad that you enjoyed your walk around the garden. As you suggest, the gardens are constantly changing, so it would be great if you could visit again in a different season. At the moment I am absolutely loving all the snowdrops, especially...More

Tucked away from the tourist trap, but a nice place in the summer. Well worth a visit on a sunny day. The cafe is friendly and lovely for a nice snack.

We went to this place out of sheer curiosity. The gardens were enchanting, to say the least. Apart from the spectacular view of the cathedral that the whole place has, the gardens themselves are superbly beautiful, with statues of all shapes and sizes peeking at...More

Loved my visit here. Collected a laminated map and guide whilst buying a ticket at the cafe (they give you a sticker to wear). It was a dry, sunny day so I explored the walled gardens first. The crackling fire in the Jacobean Room popped...More

Thank you for your lovely review- and for letting us know about your reaction to the alcove in the medieval hall. It really does have a mystical atmosphere doesn't it?
