We came here as NT members whilst on holiday in Barnstaple. The house and grounds were everything a NT property should be, well presented, lots to see, very interesting collection of model ships made by French pow's out of any scraps they could find and a further interesting collection of carriages including the very grand and impressive Speakers carriage restored... We were drawn to trying Arlington court out due to it being one of the more dog friendly National Trust Estates, a little far out for us (2 hours from home) and we're very glad we did. The lady on the admission desk was lovely, signed us up for a membership for the national trust with no fuss or time... More

I have been for walks, visited the house and been to see the amazing collection of carriages and can recommend any of these a sunny day or rainy day. They also do a delightful cream tea.

During our stay in England, we got spoiled of the top quality of National Trust, so I would say that this is not the best one NT property I visited (I would say the best being Cotehele). Although, it has an amazing museum of carriage, very well explained, and some enjoyable hands-on activities. The house was again interesting, you may... More

We originally visited this property many years ago with our children and we enjoyed revisiting. Carriage rides no longer happen but the extended carriage museum made up for it. The house was compact and the route around it easy to follow. the garden was the least interesting part of the visit - we felt much more could have been done... More

Great place to visit with kids - good choice of not so long or long walks, interesting house, kitchen garden and carriage museum (if you like those sorts of things) to look around, lovely food in the cafe and great wooded play areas for the kids to get dirty in. We took a 12 and 8 year old and spent... More

Great day out. Spent 4-5 hours here, viewed the coaches, garden, house and bug hunting with the NT ranger. Took the red route walk whilst youngest napped in buggy...be prepared to go off track a bit, down hill to start, great views and birdhide with playgrounds on way, then steep climb to get back to grounds. Lovely picnic grounds infront... More
