Not the first time we've done a cruise on the lakes but so enjoyable decided to go again. Tickets purchased in advance at one of several booking booths at the lakeside. Bought the joint ticket for cruise and visit to the Car Museum. The commentary on the outward journey was interesting and humorous. The day was perfect- warm with a... More

This was an excellent choice of events. We got a tour of Lake windermere with interesting facts about around the lake. We also enjoyed an addition of a steam railway. Lots of options on travelling times. And alcohol sold on board. Thoroughly enjoyed this. Xc

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Bowness on Windermere ,the gentleman at the ticket office was very helpful with a big smile and gave us the tickets after giving us advice about the tours, after a short wait we were ushered onto the boat, there were plenty of seats and also a selection of snacks available ,the commentary was excellent and very... My wife and I took a Windermere Lake Cruise as part of a Princess Cruise excursion to the Lake District. It offered an outstanding view of the lake. The ship was clean and there was a nice small concessions counter on board. They did also mention dinner cruises, which we thought were interesting but did not have the time for.

We took the steamer from Lakeside to the top of the lake at Ambleside and stopped for lunch up there. The trip takes about 1 1/2 hours in total with a few stops along the way. If you have the right ticket you can get on and off. Quite heavy queues to get back on when busy though! The views... More

We boat a red ticket which gave us the option of using all the vessels. We sailed from Lakeside to Ambleside the most peaceful, tranquil way to see Lake Windermere with little snippets of information to make it interesting. After time in Ambleside we arrived back at pier and took smaller vessel for a 50 minute sailing to Wray Castle... More

We caught the boat in Lakeside at the south of Lake Windermere and sailed North upto Bowness. The journey gave people a chance to view some of the old mansions along the lake. I particularly remember a party at Broad Leys House in circa 1988/9. A very nice lady from Casterton private school was celebrating her 18th birthday. As the... More

I have been on Windermere Lake cruises a number of time over the years during my visits to the Lakes, it is always an enjoyable experience. Whichever route you choose to take, sailing on the boat you get to soak in the absolutely beautiful scenery of Lake Windermere and its surroundings. There is usually someone commenting through a loudspeaker on... More

We booked the yellow tour which included boat ride from Bowness to Lakeside, steam train ride, and aquarium. You can choose from several sailings each way and from larger steamers or smaller launches. We went with launches and we're happy we did as the steamers carried a lot more people and there looked to be longer lines/crowding. The steam train... More
